What's a good meal replacement shake to take? I've been taking the isagenix powder, but, switching to something else due to price.

I've taken On gold standard before and liked that. Is that still a good brand?

I mix a shake in the morning and lunch and then lean protein, veggies, healthy fat and slow digesting carbs at dinner.

Main focus is to lose weight and i do cardio 5-6 times a week and lift 3 times a week. I'm 6'2" and 215 lbs currently if that matters, want to get to the 205 range.

Thanks!!

Not being douchey, just offering my two cents...eat real food for your meals! Don't torture yourself like this. Eat good shite and lose weight anyway.

Gold Standard isn’t really an MRP

syntha 6 is really good though, subscribe and save on amazon and it’s a good deal

I agree with big scrub unless you can't meet your macros with real food. I have come to realize that like scrub I am in the minority when it comes to food. I would much much rather eat a huge arse 24oz steak than pasta or a pop tart are any other type of carb. For some reason this seems to be an uncommon thing especially among the younger lifters.

If you have to go the shake route I suggest true nutrition and getting either a good whey isolate or egg protein or beef protein. All will be of the highest quality coming from there.

There are other good brands but TN has a very long history of having the best quality and there owners are readily available and contribute to the lifting community.

It has to be at least partly mental. I had someone at work tell me today that he opted for chicken at lunch instead of a steak because the steak "just sits there and makes me want to take a nap". I was like, are you confusing that with the bread and the pasta?

Whenever I eat a huge steak, I feel energized and sated and ready to go. I just think people have been so pistol-whipped with this carb-loading message for so long.

I dunno what it is, but on some of the Facebook groups I'm on, I see people asking how in the hell they are supposed to get down 125g of protein and how it's too much food etc. And I'm over here like.....shite that's one really good meal for me lol. It's not just steak though,I see people saying the same thing about all different types of meat.

I honestly think it's because many people were not brought up eating meat as the main staple in meals. I was raised with meat as the main staple in pretty much every meal. Only thing I can think of.

One thing I notice too is most of the people I see complaining are ones asking how to fit sweats into their diet.

Just starting keto, and my biggest concern is eating too my protein.

Granted, portion control is a huge issue for me, but one little ole chicken breast ain't going to cut it (at least at first)

I am suppose to eat 200 grams of protein. I feel like if I didn't throw in some whey everyday my jaw would fall off from chewing and I would be broke.

If you're using a meal replacement shake to cut calories, be sure to see if the proper RDA for the nutrient load is there. All of the RDAs are based upon a 2000 calorie diet. Even consuming 2000 cal/day, most people don't come close to getting the nutrients they need, so when they cut calories, they get even less. Also do some homework to see that the nutrients in the shake are in a bioavailable form, otherwise you're just pissing them out with no benefit.
