All of a sudden my L4/L5 on my right side has started hurting. It may be tied to my left pec muscle being sore for the past few weeks but I’m not sure.

Anyone have any tips on how to deal with the pain? I have taken ibuprofen and it’s still sore which makes me think it’s nerve related and not muscle related.

Mobility work for hip, glutes and hamstrings if it's in your spinal erectors.

Low back stretches as below:

This is presuming it's based on muscle tightness. If it's nerve based, doctor is the only way.

Icing cannot hurt.

There is no possible way your low back pain has anything to do with your pecs being sore.
Just because it’s still sore after meds does not mean it’s nerve pain. Where is the pain? Localized to low back? Radiating into butt, posterior thigh, or leg?

It’s localized to my lower back, right near the tailbone.

Do you have any aching or pains running down the back of your legs through your butt?

You may have just strained a lower back muscle. I have to watch my posture quite a bit because if I don't, I tend to get tightness in my lower back right over my tailbone. Not too long ago I irritated it to the point that I had sciatica pain from it as well (pain running down the back of my legs).

When it gets bad I typically ice, use a combo of Ibuprofen and Tylenol, and make sure that I keep moving. I also do stretches. I find that the pigeon pose, knees to the chest, child's pose, and frog stretch give me the most relief.

Traveling pain can also be a sign of disc issues. I had a bulging disc about 3 years ago. It wasn’t fun. I suggest seeing a therapist. Not a chiropractor, a real PT. I didn’t need an MRI, but I do regularly do my stretches and exercises to ensure I maintain my posterior chain. I also back off the weights when I’m feeling sore.

Yeah, I was lucky. They evaluated me and I didn't have any bulging discs/blowouts or stenosis.

Go to the doc. I had that same problem on my left side and I had 3 slipped disks. Seriously, get checked out. You don’t want back problems if you’re still pretty young.
