Started my calorie deficit diet in April and combined it with Insanity and have lost around 14 pounds or so (169->155).

The pounds are coming off quick but I notice my love handles are still perfectly in tact.

Am I supposed to be seeing this fall off later or something or are you guys doing something different for that area?

Egg, that’s the last thing to go for me. I’m pretty much at my goal weight but have that spare tire around my gut. At least now it’s a bicycle tire instead of a car tire.

Targeted ab work won’t burn fat in those areas. Also, doing oblique work may make your love handles more pronounced

Belly and love handles will be the last to go.
You will lose fat from neck and arms before.

Question for you: Have you ever tried cold exposure like ice baths, cold showers, etc.? Hear me out…

The Health Benefits of Cold Exposure (fat loss specifically)

quote:

Cold also activates cold thermogenesis, a way for the body to produce heat. The health benefits of cold thermogenesis are due to the activation of brown adipose tissue (BAT), a form of fat that burns regular fat for heat generation through fat oxidation. This has mitochondrial effects in cranking out more ATP. The more mitochondria there are, the better our aerobic capacity will be. Cold exposure increases the number of mitochondria (mitochondrial biogenesis). The more BAT you have, the better your body becomes in burning fat for energy.

It works. I do ice baths thrice a week for the fat burning / brown fat converting benefits, plus the neurological and anti-inflammatory lagniappe.

I do cold showers from May-November. My body responds well to those, plus I’ve been on the Lion diet and regular workouts. Also no alcohol for 7 months now. Love handles are working their way off.

Love handles are pretty much one of the last things to go. Genetically, men hold fat in the mid section, so that's typically where it's staying until you're super shredded. Doing abs exercises won't target fat loss in that area. It will help strengthen your abs, build very little, but you will not target fat loss right there. You just have to lose more and more fat unfortunately.
