Looking to do my first meet. Where do I go to look up local meets? Doesn't matter federation. I'll consider them all. Need to get the groove down.

There’s an APF meet in BR on March 10th. Email me and I’ll forward you the info. I think I’ll drive in and do it

Does anyone here know if Biggest Bench on the River is still an annual event?

I haven't had much luck finding anything on the interwebs

No idea. I can’t find anything online for any kind of Louisiana meets. I received a random email from the APF the other day inviting me to the meet in BR. Only reason I knew about it.

They just had the USAPL Louisiana 2018 Meet at Red’s in Lafayette.

If I wasn’t in Miami last weekend, I would have entered.

Botsy Bailey is hosting an event in BR this Spring. It may be the one someone posted above on 3/10. I’ll have to check.

I may enter one for the hell of it without training for it.

I should be able to best my old total by at least 60.

I bet there are plenty of people with about the same total. I'm not gonna sweat it for my first.

Just do it for the hell of it. You never know what’ll happen. They don’t even have my division for some reason, submaster. I’ll just go open and try to hang with the youngans

It depends on the meet for age classes,

I’m guessing no at the State level, but you would be in the 93kg class at 195. 1100 is respectable and may even win you first if you lift raw vs equipped; I’d be about the same.

The LA Legends Meet is the one Botsy is running. I may sign up for that one as well since it’s local.

Yes raw. I still use the cheap tapered body builder belt. It’s crazy looking at lifts and totals on the internet.

As long as you’re not wrapping knees, wearing a squat suit or bench shirt, you’re good to go for Raw.

Neoprene knee sleeves are allowed, though. Get a pair that is tight as shite to give you some added support. If you need a pair, hit me up. I have several 100 pairs in 5mm and 7mm thickness.
