Is rogue pretty much the standard? I know everyone is sold out right now, but once things become available I'm going to start really shopping.

I was looking at the rogue sml-1, Ohio bar, and a set of bumpers.

What would yall recommend for a simple set up? I don't do anything too crazy, really just squats and DLs

Horse stall mats for flooring

I have the RM-4 and absolutely love it. I like the bulkiness of the Monster series over the Monster Lite but that's just me. I haven't used a Rogue squat stand but i'm sure they're legit. I like racks more than stands because of the versatility ... don't need an extra pullup bar. Can attach my TRX to the top of the squat rack instead of to a door, etc.

I have an Ohio Bar and it's great. No issues there.

Finally, just think about why plates vs. bumpers. If you're doing a lot of Olympic lifts where you may be dropping the bar from overhead than bumpers obviously ... but if you're just doing deads you can probably get away with plates which will take up less real estate.

Good luck.

Second on horse stall mats. Rogue stuff is solidly made and they have great customer service.

I've had an Ohio Power bar for 5 years with no real breakdown.

Bumpers are fine, but I'd get some cheap iron to supplement them. The plates are the area I'd recommend buying used the most.

Rogue's stuff has been great quality for me. One time, they sold me wrist wraps from a 3rd part that fell apart day 1. I had a replacement pair without returning the first in 3 days, which is why I'm so positive on their customer service.

In my garage I have the Rogue Wall Mount Rack, an Echo Bar, landmine attachment and a T-bar handle. I have a Tractor Supply stall mat under the rack. I bought a set of the Echo bumpers- they are easier to just drop on the floor when changing weights. I saved a few bucks going with the Echo series rather than the Ohio bar and more expensive plates.

I'm not a bodybuilder by any means, but for a home gym I love it. I do bench/squat/rows etc with the rack, and I can fold the it flat against the wall so I am still able to park inside my garage. Folding the rack in/out takes less than a minute.

Everything pretty much covered,. It I am going to try and talk you out of squat stands. A rack or walk mounted folding rack are going to be much better options. As mentioned, much more versatile and safer. Also got to think about any attachments you may want later on like dip station, landmine, place to hang rings, etc.

Love my Ohio bar.

As far as brands in order sorinex, legend fitness, rogue, elitefts, rep fitness, getrxd, Titan fitness

But I would take a Titan fitness wall mounted rack over a rogue squat stand.

Whatever you choose, you want 3-in by 3-in post and either 1-in hose or 5/8-in holes. Those combinations whichever will you choose, will allow you to use all rogue attachments, either monster light or monster. Sornex also uses 1-in holes.

I've been looking at rep fitness power racks, but like everything else, they are sold out.

I have a Rogue S-1 squat stand that works great. I just marked the slots for squats and bench and move the J hooks as needed. I also have 1/2 a rig outside to do other work on. If the weather is nice, I'll bring my weights outside.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on why Legend > Rogue.

I think Sorinex and Rogue are equals as far as equipment goes. Sorinex is geared more towards college/pro but the actual build I find to be equal.

Rep Fitness had things in stock and sold them this past Monday. The thing was though...you were given a random number to wait in the queue before it was your turn to enter the site and buy. I was like #26,650. Needless to say, I didn't sniff getting anything that I wanted. The benches, dumbbells, plates and racks were all sold out with still over 16,000 people waiting ahead of me in the queue.
