But I am not sure what weight to buy. I don’t want to buy an entire set and spend $500. What weight range should I choose as someone who hasn’t worked out in 5 years? Im 6’2 250. I only want to lose some weight not really interested in being Ronnie Coleman.

I would like to get about 5 different pairs of dumbbells but im afraid of them not being heavy enough to make any gains.

Start with a 0-50 set of powerblocks. Add expansion kits as you need them.

You can find used adjustable dumbbells that will cover 5 to 50 lbs for 100 bucks. If you just want to lose weight and get a little fitter why buy a rack full of dumbbells?

All you need are

15s (use for shoulder and core work)

25s (bi/tri work)

35s (shoulder press/lunges)

45s (chest and rows)

55s (chest and rows

I was at my local Costco yesterday and saw they had dropped the price of a CAP dumbbell set w/rack to $179, I believe previously it was $249. A good value but the dumbbells only go up to 30 lb.

What’s Included:

(2) 10 lb. Dumbbells
(2) 15 lb. Dumbbells
(2) 20 lb. Dumbbells
(2) 25 lb. Dumbbells
(2) 30 lb. Dumbbells
(1) Dumbbell storage rack
