Cramer Sports says it’s a great pain reliever and the theory is it allows more blood flow. But remember Cramer also sold “heat” that just worked on nerves and didn’t really do much.

My question is it really physically effective or is it more mental?

I’ve been going to PT and they tape my knee after. I find it helps. But it doesn’t stick long bc of my hairy legs....

It pulls on the fascia which I firmly believe helps.

Only slightly workout related, but i was having bad sciatic nerve pain in my back from exercising while pregnant (and he was a giant baby, to boot), so I ended up in PT. My PT would tape under and around my stomach to help take some weight/pressure off and it seemed to help my sciatic pain. So it definitely has its uses.

I used it when I got plantar fasciitis. Absolutely works. Reduced my pain by at least 90% immediately. First time I used it went on a five mile hike with only a little discomfort after hobbling around for weeks before that.

I used it for Achilles tenderness. I could run without it, but had just come off an injury that sidelined me for 6 weeks. So I didn't want to risk it. I'd do a few runs here or there without, but nothing long. I feel like it helped, but minimally. Maybe like 5%. Now that 5% might have been the last thread that got me through 6 months of ironman training. It just didn't suddenly make aches and pains go away.

IMO it depends on what you’re using it for. It can help as a mild stabilizer.

My son has mild CP induced muscle tone and here is a noticeable difference in his range of motion in his arm/hands when it’s on.

He’s been wearing it for about 5/6 years now(currently 8years old).

I really think this is all it does. Allows the muscle to have more space for contraction.

There's definitely still the question of why it works, but it does seem to do something

Biggest effect it looks like it has on stability of a joint is enhancing proprioception and the overall biofeedback of the joint

Looks like there is probably some other effect on the nervous system or some other effect on the "fascia" or agonists it covers, while there also looks like there is some other effect on the lymphatic system

So yea, still don't 100% know why it works though there is theories. Nonetheless it does look like it probably does something, though it's not necessarily a miracle worker. Even if it is mental though, does it hurt if it helps you move and exercise without issues because that's the end game right?
