Keto OS

I have a question about this stuff. So does this actually get you into ketosis or does it just make you piss ketones? Most check to see if they’re in ketosis by peeing on the strips. All it does is show your body is producing ketones. So if you drank ketones, couldn’t that give a false positive?

Just something I was thinking about earlier. Forgive me if I’m completely off base.

How physically active or how were your workouts structures when you went through ketosis?

I plan to restart judo and although there are aerobic components there's lots of explosive anaerobic components too. I don't want to feel flat considering I'm out of shape anyway

Exogenous ketones can put you in a short-term ketosis. This is the concept with which Dom D'agostino is working on for elite warfighter units (SEALs, for example) and some neurological disorders, such as acute intervention of seizures.

Your body was intended to derive its energy from fat. You should have no fear at all from an energy stand point.

I eat when I'm hungry and drink when I'm thirsty. (Full disclosure: I'm not actually "keto" - I'm just low carb) That's the beauty of low carb. Just eat the right shite to satiety. And for exercise, do whatever you want. Literally, the only metric I keep track of is net carbs ingested (try to keep it to 30-35g or less per day) - and I've even sort of stopped doing that. The bottom line is that if you dramatically reduce the carbs in your diet, then you are going to be better off in almost every regard: weight, metabolic health, sleep, energy, libido, mental, skin, etc. I learned in the past year to stop being the "worried well".

What happens when you start eating carbs again?

I lost 32 pounds over the course of the year, stopping keto for football season. Just too hard when all they bring us to eat are carbs. Anyway, I was down 32 and put on 13 pounds from Thanksgiving to Sunday. I felt like shite eating a “regular diet” again. Started back yesterday and I can already tell a difference in the way i feel. Also dropped 2.6 pounds in 24 hours with very little sleep last night. I expect to have those 13 pounds gone by the end of the month.

Yep. Even just one day of over-consumption of carbs can lead to a quick "gain" of 5 due to water retention and the like.
