Thanks I looked at my historical data. Looks like over the last five years my triglycerides have ranged from 45 to 65

My LDL was always below 100 until last year and this year

And this is why no one pays attention to doctors about nutritional advice anymore.

Who does a blood panel after eating a bowl full of carbs? No, you do a blood panel while fasted so you get an accurate reading on cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. There’s plenty of evidence suggesting different cultures living off an animal based diet with higher cholesterol numbers and thriving to an old age.

When I opened this thread, I certainly wasn’t expecting to those numbers. I’m pretty similar to you from a BMI standpoint, and those are very reasonable numbers.

Yes, there is. And that fact has absolutely nothing to do with the statement you made that cholesterol is meaningless if you're triglycerides are normal. That is 100% factually false. And it is the only fact I addressed.

And people with long-term high glucose have elevated triglycerides well after an 8-hour fast, further complicating any sort of attempted quantitative risk connection between triglycerides and LDL particles.

That's why I mentioned the TRI:HDL ratio - it's a good proxy for atherosclerosis risk.

It's way fasting glucose is a more instructive test. Diabetes and pre-diabetes risks are also good proxies for atherosclerosis risk.
