Planet Fitness was okay, but I've mentioned before that they never maintained their equipment. I use medicine balls and stability balls a lot, and their balls would be in bad shape, deflated, some even punctured. I had to make a change.
So, I joined The Club.
Fantastic gym. They have a place for me to hang my gymnastics rings, they maintain all of their equipment. The gym has been open less than a year, but they run it like a gym. It's smaller, but there are plenty of free weights. They have barbells so you don't have to use smith machines for squats/deadlifts/bench press/etc.
I only joined yesterday, but I really like it so far. It's only $15/mo, but my membership is only for that location.
I'm cancelling my membership at Planet Fitness today. It served its purpose, and I met some nice people, but it just wasn't suiting my purposes anymore.

You still in the Jackson area? I might be moving around there in a few years and need to find a supplement gym.

Yep. The Club has 5 locations in the Metro Area, which is pretty cool. The one in Jackson inside St. Dominic's Hospital has a pool which is really cool.
They are opening up locations on the Gulf Coast soon.

Nothing worse than doing wall balls and have black flakes falling into eyes.
I think I pulled 5 flakes out of my eye once, after doing that 150 rep workout

Lol
Do you have any recs on a beginner guide for using rings? I saw that the Rec has several sets. Thought I might try and incorporate a few moves after I lift.
Preferably nothing too crazy so I don't end up looking like a pretzel.

There are good YouTube videos by professional gymnasts. I'll see if I can link one later.
The first thing to do is really be able to hold your weight up. It's harder than it looks. And you want to keep your hands close to your body so you don't tear your shoulder out.

Like sabi said start with static holds. I have a book on my google drive under gymnastics called rings 1 in the building the gymnast body that will give you step by step directions.
Also start doing ring push-ups, pull-ups, reverse shoulder flye, and rows now to strengthen stabilizers before you start the static holds. Also do not under estimate how stressful the holds are.
