Intermittent fasting vs. protein intake

I've been diligently working out and doing intermittent fasting (lifting in the afternoons). I recently started working out in the mornings and have still just been doing just water and coffee till lunch. Should I take my normal post-workout protein shake in the morning? Does that matter? Is intermittent fasting bullshite? I'm down around 15 lbs and 5 lbs from my goal weight.

Not really. Especially not for the average dude lifting for 45 minutes at the Y or anytime fitness

Mate do yourself a favour and subscribe to Thomas Delauer's YouTube channel. He's the go-to expert on all things IF and Keto

IF is a tool for adherence. It’s usually recommended to eat some carbs and protein within a couple hours of lifting. So do with that what you will

IF is not bullshite. People’s imaginations are what’s bullshite. It’s simply a tool for controlling poor eating habits. It will help with weight loss, but will work even better if you maintain a proper diet in congruence.
If your goal is purely reaching a number on a scale, then adding a PS pre and/or post is not going to delay your progress, as long as you’re consistently in a caloric deficit. The protein before might even fuel you better through your workouts and yield more gains.
