Thanks for posting. I am now educated on stevia vs erythritol. I’ll use stevia with my coffee in the morning now.

haha yea i already warned her about being careful. Honestly as a woman, you are better off doing weekly 72 hour fast then IF daily longer than 16 hours.

I feel like people complicate IF way too much.

I guess it depends on your goals. I use IF similar to the way I use keto--i follow the basic principles to remain fat adapted, get some BHB in the brain, and a little side of autophagy.
What's cool is, by changing the way I eat (timing substance and volume) "organically" over time, it seems totally natural to me now to usually stay within 6 hours w feeding (usually OMAD + snack) and I tend to up my calories naturally when training harder.
If you listen to your body instead of the FDA (and start by applying principles of eating that are based on what we've learned about our bodies through science and experience), then so much of this falls into place.

So does taking a fish oil pill in the morning (let's say 2/3 of the way through my 16 hours) break the fast? Can't watch an 11 min video..

It actually says that the warnings arent as bad as they have made it seem. Yes, thyroid function and the hormones used to stimulate ovulation, but only during the fasting period itself, and they they return to normal during the feeding window (sidenote: feeding window is such a creepy sounding phrase to me for some reason
If that science holds true, then wouldnt a longer sustained fast be harder on the female hormone levels?
He says its safe for women to do IF 16:8, just to alternate days, and not do it every day.

They do. Its simple really if trying to lose fat,
1) Go as long as you can without eating. Im talking atleast 16 hours to start and days if you are a true fatty.
2) move around alot during the fast, as much as possible
3) lift heavy shite
4) when you break the fast make sure you stay in a caloric deficit.
and see below

Pretty much. Eat like the spartans.
I mean overall IF is just a tool. Its a tool to get deep into ketosis and remain in a carloric deficit when talking about longer fasting.
If you only fast for short periods of time like 16-22 hours its just a simple way to enjoy bigger servings or foods you enjoy to meet your macros.
I don't often say this and hesitate to put this out there as I usually preech counting macros. But the absolute best way to burn fat is to do the following
Step 1- Salt fasting using snake juice for as long as possible for 3-5 days
Step 2- Come off the diet with a refeed using keto for a few days. No fricking sugar, no fricking carbs, only fatty meats for 3-5 days
repeat
or you can do the following
Step 1- Dry fast atleast 22 hours a day
Step 2- 1kg of cucumbers, 1L of coconut juice and 400mg of salt on the cucumbers.
Step 3- repeat daily for atleast 5 days then go strict keto for 3 days and repeat.
you still lift hard as hell but we keep it at 30-40 min. everything is just walking.
and nobody tell big scrub or junky i posted this lol.
the reason why this works so well is you get into deep ketosis using the fast and you are in a severe caloric deficit. Then you stay in ketosis even though you are eating. Then you go right back into a huge caloric deficit while sitll in ketosis so your body is using nothing but body fat for fuel.

the key to 16:8 for a women is not doing it everyday, thats where i was talking about sustained fasting being safer. with sustained fasting you are only doing 2-3 days then back to normal. usually this doesnt cause problems especially if you stay keto during that time.

Four days a week when I lift, I eat normal six to seven meals, with carbs pre and post workout. The other three days I typically fast for 16 hours. On these days I do cardio. I typically don’t do any carbs these days, hit well below my calories that I take in on lifting days. Its nice not eating around the clock, giving my digestive tract a break and the brain works way better. I don’t have any crazy physique goals right now, so It keeps me lean(abs visible) with little to no effort.

That's what it is all about. Get lean as frick and slowly add cals on your training days to slowly add muscle. Leangains 101
