Saturday the 20th.

I'm down 21.2 lbs.

I'm still feeling pretty good. I did make a Vegetable and Beef Soup Wednesday. It was very good. Ate too much. Mostly vegetables (lots of cabbage) though.

I've notice I really have to tighten up my belt now. I'm on the last notch! Switching to a smaller belt soon.

Update on meal later. Not sure where I'll be eating.

Lunch Update: El Magey Mexican Buffet. Started with a large "taco" salad (minus the taco). Second plate was meat and vegetables. Third plate was tilapia and a little pork and mini salad. Water. No dessert.

Monday the 22nd.

Week 3 of 4 completed.

I'm 18 lbs. down.

Blood Pressure: 136/90 pulse 61

Sunday keeps giving me trouble. I made a chicken "noodle" soup thinking that would help me. The process of cooking it caused me to eat more than I wanted. I guess seeing the food and smelling it got the best of me. Fortunately when I over eat it's low carb. By some miracle I've stayed away from the sweets so far. But I did break my no soda rule Saturday when I had a Coke Zero. Oh crap I just remembered, I had a beer too on Sunday while grilling chicken. Sunday, you bastard!

My blood pressure is going down. Even though my number is slightly higher this week, the overall trend is down. I take three readings and post the middle one. My low numbers for today are 125/84 with a pulse of 56.

Wednesday the 24th.

I'm down 23.4 lbs.

I'm still feeling pretty good, but I'm looking forward to ending this on Monday. Three fasting days left.

To reach my goal (30 lbs.) I need to lose about 6 lbs. in the next 5 days (including today).

I guess I'll walk 2 miles a day for the next three days. We'll see what happens.

Breakfast today will be the usual two eggs with bacon and a guacamole mini cup.

Dinner will likely involve a beef brisket. With maybe a salad and sautéed zucchini. I'm kinda scared I will eat too much of the brisket. Again, we'll see what happens.

How much hair did you lose from this? Typically that kind of stress on the body will cost you some.

Saturday the 27th.

I'm down 24.8 lbs.

I have today left and one more fasting day before my final weigh in on Monday morning.

I didn't walk as much as I planned. Other stuff got in the way, plus my energy has been low. I feel fine, but my body is ready for it for it to end.

A weird thing is happing. I have perpetual dry mouth. I can drink water and still feel like my mouth needs water a minute later. I rather feel hungry than this.

On that note, I can't remember the last time I felt hunger pangs.

This Saturday will be different due to a friend's birthday. No buffet today. I will eat breakfast and later today I will go to a seafood restaurant. Update on that later.

Update: Ate at Duke's Seafood in Denham Springs. Got the stuffed flounder. I ate carbs. Hushpuppies, French fries and stuffed a potato. I was going to try to avoid the carbs but I said f it. I'm fasting tomorrow and it really doesn't matter at this point.

One more day to go.

Monday the 29th.

Week 4 of 4 completed!

Ending weight loss: 25 lbs.
Ending Blood Pressure: 142/90 pulse 59

I didn't hit my goal of 30 plus lbs, but I'm satisfied with the results. The next time I do any type of long term fasting, I won't do it this way again. I don't like the lack of energy. If you have to do something physical or if you like to exercise, it's too much of a drain on the body.

My blood pressure and pulse has improved, but I still need to work on that. There's a drink concoction ( video LINK) I want to try, but you need to drink it with food, otherwise is will mess with your stomach, hence the reason I didn't do it during this fast.

I might try alternate day fasting on the carnivore diet, but next I'll likely do salad, vegetables and meat for a while with one or two fasting days thrown in per week.

I'm done!

This thread was an informative read. Thanks for posting updates. Are you planning to do an April fast of some type? If so, will you do a similar update thread? I am getting back into IF after a few months of being lazy. I typically eat one meal/day in the afternoon with lots of meat, a little bit of vegetables, and a tiny speck of berries when I'm IF. It usually does the trick for me. I've never fasted for anything longer than 24 hrs. This thread kind of blew my mind.

I got stuff going on this first week of April. And I might have to serve jury duty for the second week, so nothing has been planned.

I need to come up with a meal plan soon before I screw up. For now I like the idea of two meals per day. Breakfast at noon then a salad or vegetables with meat for dinner. So I guess that's IF with Keto.

Whatever I do this month I'd like to lose 10 lbs.

If you want to lower your BP and pulse then you can do very intense cardio and lifting. Like crossfit style stuff, and this is from someone who doesn't do crossfit.

seems like there are better and more healthier ways to go about losing weight without starving yourself. Why not just try to cut "x" amount of calories out each day along with counting macros and drinking a ton of water. Also throw in some cardio several days a week(doesnt have to be anything ridiculous just 20-30min)

I'd have to think you would lose a lot of muscle mass on an extended fast though right?

And the study referenced in the video was all high carb starches that don't do much for satiety.

I'm not against the idea of a long term fast but I'd want to learn more about it before I subject myself to it.

I'm not an expert on the subject but from what I've read your body increases HGH production during extended fasting to protect against muscle loss as becoming weaker in times of food scarcity would be a poor survival mechanism. It's the loss of fat that eventually does you in. Hopefully someone can confirm (or let me know I'm full of shite).
