How to improve shoulder stability?

I just signed up for the Houston Spartan Race 10k in March and want to improve my shoulder stability for the many overhead obstacles. I've done tough mudders in the past but this seems like another beast.
I'm looking to improve shoulder stability and grip strength for obstacles such as overhead rings and rope climbing.
I've started incorporating more pullup variations in my routine and also farmer walking with 45 lb plates with no handles to improve grip strength.
Also, any tips for a spartan race noob from any vets?

If you don’t mind spending some money, Crossover Symmetry is a fantastic solution.
Pull-ups are wonderful, but you’ll quickly develop imbalances if you aren’t training mid back more.
You can absolutely piece together accessory movements, but Crossover makes it foolproof and fast.

The rings are all you need. The things you do on Crossover Symmetry you can do with your gymnastics rings

Passive shoulder hangs and loaded carries

true but really nice to have both and the CS programs really are outstanding
first...get better at shoulder dislocates
second....build up the scaps..dont care if this is from YWT, facepulls, band pull aparts, CS program, scap pulls etc
third...get good at doing overhead pulls in the form of pullups, chins, ring pullups, neutral grip pull ups, german hangs etc
4th...get good at overhead carries. barbell, dumbbells, kettlebells, chaos carries
really all there is to it
