See a psychiatrist or a therapist. I found that taking Mirtazapine in a small dose at bedtime along with a sleep aid worked for me. Getting a great night’s sleep helped with the multiple thoughts that would pile up and make for a miserable day. That, in itself, made me feel worn out and then it continued and ruined my sleep. Good luck with recommendations from your H&FB friends.

People will bash it, but my experience has been great. Mind used to race at night, but no longer. Therapy has helped me in the past as well.

Also - headspace has a new netflix special that has helped with winding down before bed for anyone who as issues with this.

ETA: Good luck man. I wish the best for you and hope you can have brighter days.

When you feel comfortable, think about discussing the root of your issue. That’s the only way to cure it. It sounds deeply personal but I think that might be the only way to curb your problem

I know what the root cause of my worrisome is. What i'm working on is not allowing the thoughts of this problem overwhelm me. I am working on "flipping the switch" when these thoughts creep into my head, which is helping. Flipping the switch involves stopping what i'm doing, closing my eyes, and thinking of putting myself in a good situation for 90 seconds. This has helped tremendously, except when i'm driving!

Over the past few weeks', this has been eye opening to me. I've never really observed my sleep habits and how it affects the following day but you are 100% correct, if I don't get a good nights rest then I know the next day is going to suck.

I also wear the WHOOP band, which when I wake up and see that my recovery is low, i know that it's going to be a struggle.

Didn’t read the thread. Sounds like anxiety. My solution is to eat well and work my arse off even after work, work out before the family wakes up, work out after work, just keep moving. Drinking only makes it worse.

If I am not completely exhausted by 9pm...up at 4am and do it over. Sounds miserable but I’m productive as hell.

Tried. Can’t stop my mind long enough to actually enjoy it.
I would consider a gentle psychedelic like psilocybin.

OP I got put on Buspirone for PTSD, mind was constantly racing. It does take 2-3 weeks to start working. Only side effect I have is short term memory loss, I forget everything. No nightmares, sleepiness, dizziness, headaches, sexual problems, or anything like that. I would say it cut my mind racing down by 50-75%.

Yes, in my opinion it is. It isn't quick work, it takes a couple weeks to build up in your system. You have to take 2 pills a day. It's not gonna cut out anxiety 90-100%, maybe 50% I was told on average, but very little side effects, and cheap.
