Had a heavy deadlifting day on Sunday and shortly afterwards, I started noticing a weird tickle feeling in my lower abdomen. Nothing painful. No noticeable lumps or anything. Just a subtle tickle-ish feeling.

Should I be concerned? I ran 2 miles Monday and did OHP and Bent Over Row today. No pain. Still tickle feeling.

I had to look up valsava.

But yes, the tickling feeling is more pronounced after holding my nose and breathing out. Not pain just yet. Balls feel kind of tickly too.

Update - not a hernia. I giggled and laughed my arse off when the cute CRNP checked my groin for bulges. It tickled and I was nervous. I don’t think I’ll go to that Urgent Care again.

No idea.

She said she could do an ultrasound to see if there were any signs of a developing hernia. But her recommendation would be the same even if it showed up: live life like normal and practice good form in the gym.

She then asked if there was any chance I could have an STD, and I said no.

That was the end of it.

After that exchange, did she offer her cell number in case anything “changed?”

I wish. She was attractive.

Maybe early stages of a UTI? It is rare in men but does happen

She brought that up but all the questions she asked me, my answer was no.

No frequent urination or burning or discomfort. I had just urinated before she came in, so she didn’t collect a sample.

The feeling’s still there by the way. And I think I can isolate it to bring where the ureters are.

I’m fairly sure that if you had a hernia, you would know.

Hernias of the groin are usually unilateral after lifting, but as the ring tears, sometimes the swelling will prevent anything showing right away. Sounds more like a tear in a muscle at the pubis insertion site, or bladder was just real full from some retention, as you might be experiencing some BPH , but more likely an abdominal muscle. Time will tell if it’s a hernia, but sounds doubtful...
