I don't see many people use it.

I bought one on Amazon last week to incorporate into my program. I cut it too short and smack myself in the shins with it so I have to buy another one.

I do, I firmly believe that it is the number one development tool for an athlete to have good footwork. Ever seen someone non athletic be a bad arse on a jump rope?
I use it as part of my warm up almost every night

I think I'm a lot better at singles than most would think looking at me. Work I my on doubles still.

Haven’t touched my jump rope in a year and the other day I could still do double unders

I was doing some jump rope circuit training in the garage last summer. Would only do about 15 minute circuits because I was sweating so much, but a few times a day. Felt great afterwards, got more lean and it helped with sports.

It took me about 3 months once I bought a speed rope to really get it down
I don’t jump that far off the ground so it looks like singles sometimes

I just use the crummy Rogue ones the gym owns. I can string together a few doubles here and there but I need to lose more weight and get in better shape before I can sustain them I think. I get tired and winded and lose my timing.

So I’m 42 years old, 6’2” 205 Lbs and pretty active, play a lot of basketball. I have never done the jump rope but think I need to incorporate.
What is a good starter jump rope?

I've tried it. Makes my pecs bounce uncomfortably.

I did 300 double unders yesterday. I use it at least twice a week. RPM ropes are amazing.

I am of the belief that if you're just jumping rope normally, the everlast basic one is the best for the price. It's like $10
I often use it to warm up, and lately i've been doing some killer finishing circuits where I do 8-10 kettlebell swings with 50-75 jumps back and forth for 3-5 rounds, and do that 2 times or so. After an intense workout it makes me want to call my mommy

I used to jump rope as warmups for Wendler's NOV program. I've been meaning to get back into it. I found this video (youtube) that has a 30 day progression. I may try this to see how it works out.
