Ok, let me start by saying yes: I do plan to talk to my PCP or a specialist. But what does the board think of this:

About four days ago I started getting this sensation like I am sitting on my cell phone and it is set on vibrate.....and someone is calling.

Yes, I checked my pockets. It has been on and off and I definitely feel an intermittent buzzing sensation down in the groin area (sitting or standing or laying in bed, doesn't matter).

Obviously it's a muscle spasm, But I've never had this before. Yes, I do hit the gym weekly and don't skip leg day (squats, dead lifts, lunges etc,), but I never overdo it by putting on crazy weights. I stay conservative.

Anyone else ever experience this? Is this a urologist question or more of a colorectal /proctologist type issue? Everything else is working fine.

does the buzzing start from the front or your back? do you wear your belt very tight lately? could be a nerve pinch.

Sounds like it could be Meralgia paresthetica.

This is caused by compression of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Most commonly patients describe numbness, but since it is a nerve compression, "buzzing and vibrating" could be seen too.

Neither. It is right in the middle. Deep inside.

Deep Middle could be Piriformis Syndrome. Try some piriformis stretches to see if it relieves your symptoms.

This seated chair stretch is the one I have people do the most:

I'll have them hinge forward at the hips to a stretch and immediately come out of the stretch (This is called a dynamic stretch). I'll have them do this 4 or 5 times. Follow up with the same movement but hold the stretch for 30-60 seconds. I have them repeat the whole process 3 times.

If that seems to work then I suggest you incorporate some clamshell exercises to strengthen the muscle.

I hope this helps.

It's a spasm, I get it occasionally, reach for my cell and realize it's not in that pocket.

Yes, I’ve had this as well. It was brought up to my urologist who indicated it was a nerve issue. I agree with the other posters that stretching is the right move. Mine has come and gone over the years
