Brother you are losing bodyfat because you are in a deficit, not because of a lower carb intake.
There is nothing wrong with lowering carbs if it is the tool you use to stay complaint, but everything else you said it factually wrong especially the part about metabolism crashing.
Congrats on your fatloss, I am truely happy for you, but before you give advice you should educate yourself on the science and in/outs of fatloss. I highly suggest you read the book fatloss forever by Dr Layne Norton. Covers all aspects of fatloss and even has a big chapter on keto by Dr Dom D'AGONSTINO.

Something's going on here though. He's 6-1 215lbs and he thinks he's fat? I'm wondering if he's just what they call "skinny-fat" and he sees that little pudge on this stomach as being fat-fat.
If he weight trained like he meant it I suspect most of his body issues would go away.

Yeah, 6-1 215 without much muscle mass is just dad bod. Not a great look, but not a build people generally consider fat.

That's what I'm thinking; he's just kind of doughy looking, but not obese.
As I mentioned earlier, serious weight training will do him a lot better than trying to diet down.

Alright I’ll rephrase, I’m overweight not fat. I’m 17, so not quite as much muscle.
