And??? I have been doing it the past two weeks and should be able to be well above the rx of 135 by the end of the next 10 weeks. It's all about starting light and progressing slowly but surely. Honestly though if you are comfortable in the bottom position you don't get lactic acid buildup. I use to play catcher from age 7 until junior year of ha so I am used to being in that position and like Olympic lifters I am able to relax my quads easily. Most that can do full atg squats also can do this. But the lower back pain, omg the lower back pain is deadly. But the challenge is doable for the regular jo blow gym guy especially college students.

I'm fine in the bottom of a full squat.

It's just a not fun workout.

Maybe, haven't tried. I honestly doubt I could do 135 right now. I did 105 yesterday, lower back got killed along with lungs but quads were fine. Now I can squat 135 for 30 reps no problem but. The paused portion of this challenge changes the game big time. At my current peogression I should hit 135 in 4 weeks(will be in Jamaica one week).

Have you tried it Lester? If not you should and even if you can't do it rx, try it with the progressions I laid out.

yea i did it a few weeks ago actually. i forget my exact time but it was in the 1:50 range

did it with some guys that can move some serious weight. None of them finished. But i guess practicing it routinely like you are would make a difference.

yea its tough on the lower back. I couldnt imagine doing it at 185 much less finishing at 135

You did 135x30 in 1:50?

My legs are still shot from last Thursday's workout of 4x10 squats at 270 followed by 17.5, and Monday's 9/11 memorial workout of: 2 mile run, 23 strict pull-ups, 343 air squats and 37 push presses at 115.

Speaking of 30 reps, I benched 195 30x unbroken back in May. Max unbroken bench reps at body weight challenge.

Might try with 95. Can't quite do a full deep squat due to being old and arthritis in my knees so we will see how it works

Tried Sally this morning with just an empty bar, I had to skip a few Sally downs towards the end. Sally is a filthy whore, I am going to see her again

I'll do challenge 1 and 2 with you. I think burpees are stupid so no chance in doing that.

Been working out routinely for the past 8 years. I go from focusing on heavy lifitng, to focusing on athletic workouts, to focusing on cardio. Right now I'm in athlete mode so your challenge works out well for me. Sally is a bitch

Yes sally is a bitch, determined to make her my bitch by the end of the year. Gonna do her with 185lbs on my back.

As far as burpees go, they are stupid but they are the ultimate test of musclular endurance, cardio and a good bit of athleticism. If your goal is to be more athletic imo not much beats the burpee for normal gym rats besides gymnastic style training and jump rope.

Sounds like code for 185lb man. You do what you do. I don't judge.

I don't disagree with you at all about burpees, but I don't like them (not because it's difficult) and do well without implementing them in my routines. Just not my cup of tea and breaks rule #1.

I'll start your sally challenge tomorrow since it's leg day for me. Going to start with 95lbs first and asses after.

I only do front squats with the guy facing me, not back squats, if you are going to make fun of me atleast get your story straight.....cock in face=good, cock on back of neck=no good.

So just finished with my workout. I went ahead and started the chin up challenge. First I strapped on 25lbs to see where I'm at now and how far I need to go. I was able to do 11 dead hang chin-ups with a 25lb plate. I went ahead and continued with the exercise with just bodyweight and had to stop at about 20, I completely depleted myself with that first set lol.

Dude thats crazy good. If you practice everyday like I said, you will be able to do the challenge in no time.

how many bodyweight dead hang can you do?

I don't know, for a couple reasons. First reason is I usually do pull-ups, not chin-ups. The second reason is I'm at the point in my workout life where I don't really max anything. Don't get me wrong, I workout to peak at certain things during certain times but not much of a maxer.

I lost my motivation to max about 3 years ago where I was at the height of my weight lifitng peak, putting up crazy amounts of weight. It took me awhile (5 years) to get to that point but my job wouldn't let me sustain it, and as long as it took me to get there, it took way less time to lose it all, very discouraging.

Adding in the Up Down Sally Challenge tomorrow, will see how it goes. Gonna start super low with 65 as I've had bad experiences in the past with starting these high rep challenges too heavy and really setting myself back.

If it's easy I'll bump up to 95. I do quite a bit of high reps and pause-at-the-bottom squats so I'm thinking I should be fine, but I keep telling myself with age that I'll stop being such an idiot about these things ha.

Did the squat challenge today. Started with a 2 mile run and went into my leg workout. Saved Sally for last. Picked up 95lbs and was humbled real quick so I did Sally with 65lbs. Not too bad.
