I am getting ready to start the greyskull class with johnny pain that I just paid for this week, tonight I have to do max reps on bench with 225 and max deadlift then amrap in 5 min of burpees, I'm gonna puke almost for sure.

Got 64 in the 5 min, surprisingly it wasn't my cardio that held me back, it was muscular endurance. Don't get me wrong I am currently laying on the floor of my garage gym and will be for another 10 min but I didn't feel like I was going to puke or anything like that. Hopefully I can improve on average of about 3 per week to make the 100 goal by the end of the next twelve weeks.

Did Sally yesterday with 65 pounds. frick that workout, Jesus.

Gonna see if I can hit 135 at some point.

Lsu777 would you recommend continuing to work it and slowly progress until I hit 135 or is it the kind of thing where I need to progress to a point, take month off (from Sally, not from working out in general) and then restart?

I know some programs/challenges are setup for relatively continued progress whereas others are designed for step progress and then breaks inbetween.

Appreciate the help. Back was screaming at me yesterday, but it actually feels pretty good today.

I would treat as a way to add volume after two heavy sets twice a week. Treat it as you would a linear progression program and add 2.5 lbs per week. If 65 was hard, start with 45.

Honestly this challenge is about strengthening the back and learning to get proper squat depth and being comfortable in the arse to grass position. These benefits carry over big time to your regular squat and why I choose it.

Most people can't do sally with air squats. Maybe start there

Did the Sally Up last week with 65#, and then 75# today.
Both had my legs screaming. The worst pain has been my calves.

I'm going to see how far I can take this challenge.
This is going to be great prep for ski session.

Cause it's normally just with air squats or the bar. And I hate the song

Could see that being great to do by myself though. Put a decent amount on the bar 95-135 and do that. Would be a solid quick wod

It comes out to 30 squats in 3.5 minutes I can definitely do it. I'm sure a lot on here can. I think it just seems worse than it actually is.

It's not the squats. I can do 30 reps with 135. It's the pause that wrecks you.

We did it at my gym few weeks ago and no one finished. Couple Guys with squat numbers in the 400-500. Many in the high 300's

Not saying you can't. It's harder than just 30 squats in 3.5min because you're sitting in the bottom in between squats

I forgot about the pauses deep in a squat. Good point. Yea, that would be really difficult and I'd likely fail it.

95lbs is probably manageable.

I can squat in the 400s but still had to start with 65. Second time was today, and did 70. Seemed much easier than when I did 65. Still going to progress slowly.

Ive done the Sally thing about a year ago. It was miserable but I got thru it with 135. I just did a mile run, 30 BS at 135, 30 burpees, 1 Mile. I think it is one of the best Crossfit workouts I do. That first 400 yards of the last mile lets you know you are alive. 22:30.
