Is this the right program for a beginner? Was in decent shape but hadn’t done anything in 5 yrs. My goal is to loose wieght belly/love handles so I can button my pants. After that building muscle would be nice. Also is there an eating plan to go with this? Tia

Absolutely. I highly reccomend it for beginners. I have been lifting for years and I switched to Greyskull and have seen steady gains and weight loss. Now, it has a diet plan, too; your diet will be just as important. Paging lsu777. He has tons of info. Also, if you look down the front page of this board, you should see the GSLP primer thread. Lsu777 has it chocked full of information. There is also the daily strength thread that some lifters post in, myself included, to keep track and motivate. Learn the form and technique of your lifts as best you can and watch your strength explode.

I think it is pretty much a beginner program. If it’s not considered beginner, then it’s not far off. Lifting is great and will help you lose weight and feel great, but diet goes hand and hand with any program. I’m not good at dieting at all. I was doing Greyskul before I bought a set of rings. I put greyskul on back burner for a while.

simplest thing to do is do the following
for lifting:
greyskull lp linebacker template minus the neck extensions
add morning walks as possible
hard conditioning from the conditioning book on day 3 and day 6 capped at 15min max
for diet do the following to start:
intermittent fasting- 8 hour eating window. (12-8)
Calories-BW*12
Protein-BW*1.5 so 300g for you right now
Carbs-100g
fat- rest of calories- about 85g for you.
sleep-
7 hours a night to start working up to 9-10 nightly.
on off days- start doing agile 8 and limber 11. this is important.
