Full body soreness from squats!

So I’ve really been focusing the last couple of months on my squat form and on engaging and activating all of my core and supporting muscle groups during my squats. Well yesterday I was feeling really good and decided to do sort of a mini-max day. It’s nothing overly impressive, only made it to 315 (which is an all-time PR for me, even if still pretty weak), but my entire body is so damn sore in the best way!!! My shoulders, my traps, and holy hell my abs.
Nothing really to add, just a cool moment when you see / feel the things you’ve been working on show themselves. It was also such a great feeling when I didn’t feel unstable or like things were getting out of whack when I started going heavier. I missed 325 but it was simply because I wasn’t strong enough, not because my form broke down.
Anyways, that’s all! 350 is 2x my body weight and officially the goal for 2023!

yea 315 isnt some huge number but its nothing to sneeze at either especially at 175. That puts you at a Cat III in the starting strength standards which is firmly intermediate and if you achieve that 350 would put you at a cat IV which is advanced.

I bet you only deadlift like 500.

Goals:
3 plate bench (done)
4 plate squat (around 390 right now)
5 plate DL (+5lbs because 500 >>>> 495)

Dude, at 175, this puts you in probably the top 5% of all people for your BW. Yeah, it’s not gonna win you a competition, but it makes you far stronger than the average person. There’s never shame in a 315 squat.

Well damn, wasn’t the point of the post, but this thread has me feeling much better! I’ve always thought my squat was pretty pathetic. Granted I go to a pretty elite gym where there are some STRONG dudes, but I appreciate the encouragement!
2xBW squat here I come!

comparison can be the theif of joy when you are trying to compare yourself to those that are elite.
if you ever want to know where you are...use the starting strength standards. then remember less than 10% of the population does any form of resistance training and approx 5% train with enough progressive overload to really make any gains.

Yea I try to remind myself of this from time to time. Didn’t know that few folks lifted heavy but makes me feel even better ha!

Why even go to the gym if you're only gonna lift that much?

That's stronger than most. Good job.

I stand in front of a red light/ near infrared light twice a day. I really thought it was a gimmick but I’m not sore at all.
For the record, I’m 180 and only squat 345, DL 405 and bench 225. Pussy numbers here too baw. I can cardio lift like a mofo though.
