Does anyone use either?
Thinking about making a purchase for one of the other. Fitbit Air is cheaper, but Whoop seems more comprehensive.

Skip both and go Garmin Fenix. Expensive but by far the best purchase I may have ever made.

Garmin
It's expensive for a reason: the hardware is second to none. I've had the Forerunner 35, 55, and currently the 265. I have always been happy with Garmin products.

Agreed. All my friends who were on Whoop have switched to Garmin and never regretted it. One time purchase not a monthly subscription and get all the same data

Garmin is the way to go. All of the same metrics plus you have a watch. And depending on which model, you can read text, answer calls, etc. Also charging it once a week is a huge perk!

I got the Fitbit Air because it was $100. The AI is fricking retarded. Seriously, it’s like ChatGPT 1.1. The metrics are ok but I felt the Apple Watch had a better health interface. Google Health is also not very accurate and the activity tracking is bad. I’m not very impressed. I’ll give it a few months and try the garmin. I was an early adopter of Whoop but jumped ship after they started the monthly subscription.

Google bought Fitbit and turned the app into a flaming pile of dog shite. I'm going with Garmin next time.

I charge my Fenix 8 like once a month. A full charge can last 27-29 days depending on how much I use the flashlight.

How do you have your GPS set? Full band, or low power?

It’s whoop for me. The “watches” suck to sleep with, shower with, and have to take off to charge. Whoop has a 15 day charge and never NEEDS to come off. Can swim with it. They also keep adding features. I track every exercise, set/rep in the strength trainer function where it tracks smoothness of reps and overall load. It has a “whoop age” that tracks the effect of sleep, exercise, RHR, blood pressure, etc and shows you how your habits are affecting your health and aging long-term. Add in a variety of different bands, some with leather/gold trim, and it’s more aesthetically pleasing. Can also wear it on bicep, waist band, wrist. The medical grade version has the blood pressure monitoring and EKG, and although I don’t use them as much, they’re available. I won’t go back to the other bullshite, frankly. Love mine.

Granted, if you want a one-time purchase, get one of the cheaper options.

It depends on how much you use the actual functions. If you're logging miles via GPS on runs/hikes, tracking workouts or using apps through the watch, you'll have to charge more than once a month.

But it beats charging an Apple watch every day.
