Went get first InBody scan to get a baseline of where I am. 5’11 193lbs 33yo

It listed me at 16% BF. I went in expecting 20-25%, I posted pictures to see if y’all agree. Unless I carry every bit of fat in my belly… Also, I know I like seeing before/after pics. A little extra motivation to show up in a few months with some results.

I’ve seen real progress over the last 3 years. I had become real lazy. When I started getting back to the gym I couldn’t do more than 2 full range of motion pulls ups. I’m repping 8+ with slower eccentrics fully opening up the shoulders. I’ve made progress, but I’ve never really dedicated my focus into building muscle and being healthy. I wanna give it a serious effort. Counting calories with Macro Factor, tracking workouts with Caliber, supplementing with creatine and fiber etc.. I want to feel good about taking my shirt off at the pool or at the beach. I was getting soft.

I’ve got a meniscus surgery coming up after first of the year, not able to push the legs too hard without being in pain. Hopefully can keep the momentum rolling with good upper body workouts.

I wouldn’t get too wrapped up in the actual %, there’s a huge variance between testing methods (DEXA, InBody, etc). You’ll have crazy sticker shock if you switch from InBody to DEXA.

Regardless - just use this as a proxy and get to work.

MacroFactor is a great app - I highly recommend using it. I think you’ll see great success.

Another quick/simple win - Focus on getting 10k steps per day. This had as much of an impact on me leaning out as actual training.

Good luck - Book your next InBody in 12 weeks and get to work

Inbody always measures me way too low. Consistently at sub 10% and let’s just say I’m definitely not 8.5% bf.
Based on pics I’d say you are closer to 25% than you are 16%.

Got a fit bit charge 6 (on sale for Black Friday) and a treadmill off Facebook marketplace a few weeks ago. I came to a similar conclusion. I’ve got a desk job and need to supplement some walking/running during the week.

Yeah, it’s what I figured. Wasn’t that excited when I saw the results, figuring I’d like visible abs before some stupid low bf%. I’ve read enough about the inaccuracy on the tests here and online, using it to track progress will be the goal.

Since I’m actively tracking, I’m going to cut down to 185 as an initial target for the first of the year. Cut/Bulk cycles seems to be the optimal way to build lean mass and cut fat. Intuitive eating worked fine when I was doing jiu jitsu a couple times a week. But, tracking already has stopped me from snacking on stuff the family has laying around. That alone will probably drop some weight off me

25? No shot imo

Download the app and scan that QR code. Will give you a breakdown of weight by area - arms/legs/trunk - and other stats to track

you carry body fat pretty well imo. seems to be pretty evenly distributed. I can get veins in my chest and arms and still have some pudge right under the belly button

They are only as accurate as your routine. Keep a pretty normal routine for a week as far as hydration goes and go in the morning after pissing and before even drinking water and it’s pretty accurate

You look to be between 20-23%
