Otherwise known as beer gut. Any good ideas or experiences in getting rid of the outer stomach fat?

Here is what I have been doing. On a cutting diet with a target of 1800 calories and I am burning about 700 a day from exercise. I am usually left with a surplus of 500 to 800 calrories. I have lost at least one pant size. When I flex I feel my core I have been working hard on. My exercise is mainly stationary biking, walking, shooting hoops, and then my hour weight lifting.

But, how do you get this outer layer of fat out of here? Will it just eventually go away if I continue on my tracks, or should I be doing something different.

I bought a body fat calculator to start measuring this, because maybe it is dissearing already slowly but surely and I am just not noticing it.

Just burn fat. Your body will decide where it reduces. You have no control over it.

May want to look at your diet. What does the 1800 calories consist of?

My macros yesterday were:
78g fat
93g Carbs
220g protein

It's usually not that much protein. I am usually at 150 to 200 in protein M-F.

There's no such thing as target fat burning. It's a myth. You lose fat on a LIFO basis. (Last In First Out).
You're carb count seems kind of high though.

Correct but carb count doesn't matter so long as calories are in a deficit and protein is high.

reverse the fat and protein macros of course, mix in some intermittent fasting. Try to stay under 50g carbs (net fiber) for awhile and see what happens.

keep walking and increase that + some hear-rate zone training.

switch to a real bike if possible.

Wait what? No don't do that at all. Protein is the only macro that can prevent the breakdown of muscle after being in a deficit for more than 10 days(look at the studies on fat fasting and other macro only diet while in severe deficits).

Protein is the only macro that shows a thermo effect of any appreciable affect while digesting.

How macros are perfectly fine. Sure he could lower the protein some and distribute them to fats and carbs as he sees fit. But he doesnt need to go crazy on the fats or lower carbs or go keto or do any heart rate zone training. That is all a bunch of bro science BS.

He can if he wants though, but its not needed. Simple caloric deficit+high protein+heavy weights on barbell lifts= sustained fatloss and health.

Is that fact? I thought it varied person to person.

well its not a fact but usually you put fat on in the places where you have the worst blood flow. So USUALLY that will be the hardest area to remove it from. so LIFO isnt a fact but its the case 99% of the time.

I have the fortune/misfortune of even fat distribution throughout my body. The good thing is that when I get heavy, I don't have a massive gut. Even at 5'10" ~245 lbs, I looked rather fit. The problem is that even after losing weight (Currently 217) I look a little smaller, but the only area you can really tell the difference is in my face.

There are a few things to consider. If you gather all your fat in your gut, you might have an insulin issue coming and should consider a lower carb approach
