Unfortunately governments understand people want them to do something to make them feel better so they come up with rules like this.

I don’t want the government doing anything. And I serious doubt their motivation is to “make us feel better”.

The idea is to stop the droplets from leaving the mouth. It actually helps a lot.

There is no evidence that cloth masks are helpful and The Godfather Dr Fauci said we shouldn’t be wearing them on 60 minutes.

I got an email from my gym stating the new rule the CDC wants for gyms. Everyone has to schedule a time to go and has 90 minutes to finish. The gym will then close for 30 min so the employees can go through and sanitize everything especially the hotspots...so the next scheduled group can safely come in.
This is going to suck

I didn't go but local gym here started yesterday and besides sanitizer and asking people to spray/wipe equipment they give no fricks.

This is an older hard core body building/powerlifting gym we never comes close to the 25% capacity of the building during normal times. It's the kind of place that lets competitors have special access and puts your pictures from the show on the wall of you place. it's a throwback and fricking awesome.

Not expecting N95 efficiency, but just a cloth covering to block airborne droplets when I talk, cough, or breathe
may as well wear nothing.

And allowing him in the door of the gym which will most certainly require them.

But according to what I read in today's paper, face masks are not required if working out.

ETA: Anybody else finds that logic totally illogical. Need a mask to walk in and out the gym when you are casually breathing but you can remove it to get a good sweat and increase the cardio where you are huffing and puffing on the treadmill or stationary bikes.

That’s how it is here in Arkansas. Walk in with mask, take it off to workout, put it on to walk out. It is absurd

That makes sense if it's never packed. My gym is pretty big and is packed almost all hours of the day. It has a basketball court, swimming pool, racquetball court and other amenities that attracts a lot of people at once. But I still think it's overkill wanting people to schedule a time to workout.
I need to join a gym like yours... I can probably learn from all the people a lot bigger and stronger than me

Went to the gym today, very sparse crowd. No one wearing mask to workout, everyone wiping down equipment and benches.

Yeah I posted before they released any info on it. I’m shocked but I’m happy they aren’t requiring masks
