Endoscopy without anesthesia

Just had my annual health check. Decided to have the endoscopy done without anesthesia so I wouldn't be useless for the rest of the day. Honestly it wasn't horrible. The medicine they shot us my nose and down my throat wasn't the best, but tolerable. The scope in the nose was uncomfortable but also tolerable. The actual procedure, from start to finish was less than 5 min.

Interesting. I had one done a few years ago and they used a new drug where I was back to normal about an hour after leaving the facility.

Had a similar experience several years ago at an ENT. They didn't go that far down but they did scope through the nose to look through my sinuses and the back of my throat. It was a nasal spray that ended up making the roof of my mouth and teeth feel numb for a bit, but not bad.

No way you’re doing a colonoscopy without being knocked out.

I did this too. It’s crazy how the instrument went straight into your face instead of UP your nose, like I expected. It’s not terrible.
