Do I need to give up “white” carbs if I’m giving up sugar?

I’m going to attempt to try and stop eating so much refined sugar in hopes it helps some of my joint and inflammatory problems I’m having. Not really doing it to lose weight because I’ve gotten down to where I wanted to from IF and increased cardio. Problem is, I have been eating pretty much what I want during my 6-8 hour window of eating. I’ve been going overboard on sweets, so I’m going to try and give up as much refined sugar as I can. Just not sure if I will need to give up bread, rice, etc...to see any improvements. If so, I’m not sure I can give that all up.

Just look how much added sugar it has. Some bread has a lot, some none at all.

Start out just looking at packages to find 'added sugars' and eliminate as much of that as possible. I believe the WHO recommends staying <25g of 'added sugar'. If you still have inflammation then yes, you'll have to try cutting out white, refined starches like bread or rice and switch to whole grain breads and brown rice. If you still have the joint and inflammation trouble, you can try eliminating grains altogether and sticking with things like tubers (potatoes), root vegetables, gourds, squashes and fruits for carbohydrate sources.

Yeah. You really have to look closely at the nutrition and ingredients. Sugar is hidden in some form or another in nearly everything other than fresh produce or meats.

You can argue it with some evidence to support you, but its certainly not true
