Sam's is like $45/year and chicken is $.99/lb there. Between that and other things you can rack up some serious savings if you break up and freeze.

I just grilled 7lbs of chicken. $13 for that at Sam’s.

I have a huge bag of frozen green beans from Costco and some roasted potatoes.

Total was $30 for all of that.

The local grocery store by my house does a daily mark down of meat that expires that day. Everything from waygu beef to standard pieces of chicken. It will be 1/2 priced or better. They do this first thing in the morning and if you get there early, you can get some fantastic cuts of meat for awesome prices.

I work a 12-9 shift once a month for a week. On that week, I stock up on proteins to freeze and cook until the next late shift.

I swapped beer for liquor. Takes less to get a buzz and has less calories. It more expensive per unit, but I can make a bottle of Crown or Makers last a month.

Purchase a couple of cookbooks. Doesn't have to be for gourmet meals, there are hundreds to choose from at any bookstore.
Download a grocery list.
Plan out what meals you want for the week and purchase the ingredients needed.
A George Foreman grill comes in real handy for chicken breasts, etc.
