I’m running a half in Savannah in November and want to schedule 2 for 2022

I do local 5 and 10ks but if I’m doing longer races I like to make it into a long weekend getaway.

So I’m looking for suggestions where they have a good race in a fun place to go.

The Marine Corps Marathon is one to consider. The race is late October and you run all through DC. Good crowd support and some stretches are quite memorable, including the Blue Mile. This finish is also unique as Marines line up at the end and they give you your medal.

Check out the Smokey Mountain race. It just ran on 9/11. It appears they had almost 1700 racers. It must be a well run deal. I'd love to talk to someone that's actually been before.

No amount is worth even a day in Orlando
It’s a swamp with amusement parks.

Niagara Falls marathon and cape cod marathon are both on my radar.

Niagara Falls marathon

I'm looking at that one too. Looks better than the Buffalo Marathon but knock against it may be reduced course support and crowds. It would be rally fun to end at the falls though.

I like that it is a one-way race.

I like that too. If I didn’t have my covid concerns I was going to sign up for it this year. The race ends on the Canadian side and they were being pretty strict about letting anyone in for the longest.

The other one I mentioned (cape cod marathon) looks really awesome too and it’s over Halloween weekend so you could check Salem out for some Halloween fun while in the area. I’m actually going to Salem next weekend for first time.

Chicago is a great opportunity for a PR. If you don’t keep your pace up, you get shot.

There’s a 10k as well.

I wouldn’t mind doing the cherry blossom run in DC

Army 10 miler

NYC half used to be on my bucket list. Friends did it and had a blast.
