Seems like its been a while since I posted. For the last two months or so I've felt like walking proof of Murphy's Law. Every time an injury would start to heal something completely unrelated would get fricked up. And then, just for good measure, I came down with pneumonia last monday. FYI, That shite SUCKS!!!

Anyways, 5 days in bed apparently did me some good because I PR'ed on Squat this monday at 535lb. and on Deadlift this morning with a 545lb. pull! Now if I could only be as cool as Dixie Normous and get that 315 double on bench. lol

I’d trade that extra rep for just a 4 plate squat any day. My bench to squat/DL ratio is just horrid.

Deadlift: 320x5; 360x3; 405x1
Squat: 195 5x10
Close leg-press: 405 3x10
Abs

I went for two on dead and could’ve got it, but 3/4s of the way up I was about to rip arse in front of 3 people right behind me so I bailed

TL,DR: I sacrificed my 405 rep PR to prevent a public fart.

A true lifter never sacrifices a PR.

Just kidding. Farts during max attempts are some of the most dangerous farts around.

OHP: 127.5x5; 145x3; 160x3
CG Bench: 160 5x10
Pull ups: 10,9,8
Curls: 77.5 3x10(9)
Abs

Looking forward to next week. My gym started running challenges and I’m going to try to get on the board for bench/squat/dead. Think I should be able to hit 1100+ which would put me 2nd behind some monster who posted 1480.

Last night, did EMOM bench with 195 until I hit 40 total reps.

Then 4 giant sets of paused DB bench, side laterals, rows, face pulls, curls and skullcrushers.

Farmers walks and tabata air bike to finish.

I'm finishing up week 5 of John Meadows' Gamma Bomb program. It's my first true hypertrophy program and I am loving it.

5/3/1 BBB Week 4 Cycle 2

This was supposed to be my deload week, but my Step Brother wanted me to do deadlifts at his gym.

DL: 335x5 365x3 385x1
Lat Pulldowns: 140 3x8

I bombed my first attempt at 385, I’m a little underweight this week after traveling last weekend, but stepped up again and fought like hell and pulled it. Felt good. I’ve pulled 390 once before. I’m doing a meet in 3 weeks, so I’m hoping to pull 400 maybe 405. Gonna start prepping for it the next 2 weeks.

Good luck in the competition. I’ve considered doing a local one, but I’m worried I will suck so I’ve held off. Maybe I’ll dive into one this year to see how it goes.

Thanks! This will be my first meet, and my numbers will probably suck relative to everyone else. I’m not worried though, I just want to do it to get a baseline. If you’re putting up 1100+, you should definitely do one. Shoot, I’ll be lucky to lift 950 lol.

Well, did the challenge at my gym and it went pretty well. Posted 315 on bench, 365 on squat, and 435 on deadlift (all had to be done within 60 mins for the challenge) for an 1115 total.

Did a conservative bench because I didn’t have a spotter, but could’ve pushed the total a little further. The squat and deadlift were PRs so that’s cool.

Still here doing 5/3/1 but just focusing on my main lifts and doing a lot of 95% work.

Did just squats last night.

Squat: 245x5 265x3 275x2 290x1 290x1 275x1 225x5 170 2x10

Taking a rest day, and then Deadlifts. Throwing out OHP days and adding a 2nd bench day to work on commands and my pause bench to get ready for the meet.

Thanks, I'm not really taking it that serious. I'm just hoping to hit some PR's and get a good starting point. I've really only been lifting heavyish for the last 2 years. Some of these people will have years on me.
