Split Jerk 185x3
OHP-115x3/130x3/145x3+
Incline DB Press 65 5x10
Shrugs 155 5x10
Superset: Curls 5x10
Dead hang leg lifts (idk what the proper term is)

Question: Whenever I under a loaded bar for OHP, I have a good brace, but when I go to actually lift, I almost black out. I have to let go my brace, regather it, then lift. How do I keep my big, first breath without blood choking myself.

He has a lot of good videos for strength athletes. I hope that one can maybe give some strategies for your OHP issue.

I’ve never felt like was going to pass out, but I changed up my strategy on OHP a couple months ago because of a similar reason.

All I did was just slow it down, backed off some weight a bit (I know, frick lower numbers), and start to really focus on pushing with my shoulders and it took away some of the tension in my head.

Alsruhe's tip about glute and core engagement helped me. I get the pressure when I'm not tight and compensate by leaning backwards a bit.

Emphasizing bracing, glute engagement and stacking my shoulders on that base helps me get more vertical, and that relieves a lot of the choking.

I will have to try and emphasize it. It’s not that the weight is too heavy. I pressed 145 for 6 reps and still had 2 in the tank. Just for whatever reason, it feels like I’m about to blackout when I take that breath and brace and get under the bar.

What's your grip width like? Another idle thought, narrowing my grip helps me a lot in front squat and ohp.

When I get thumbs on the outside of my shoulders, a lot of the pressure is better. I find it lets me get vertical forearms and really stack my elbows and shoulders without the bar pushing back.

A false grip helps me too.

That’s fricking awesome dude! You’ll be crushing 8 reps with 45 lbs dangling around your waist in no time if you keep it up

Deadlift: 352.5 3x3; 335 1x7
Bench: 315 1x1; 250 3x6
Close grip bench
3s Pause reps: 275 2x1
Weighted chins
Straight arm lat pull downs
Spider curls
Single arm preacher curls
Face pulls

Pretty pleased with my deadlift progress right now. Also, that 315 bench rep went up really smooth. I’m doing maxes in three weeks and think I may finally join the 2x body weight bench club

Seriously, I’d get some bloodwork done just to make sure you’re not deficient in anything. Passing out is nothing to frick around with.

Don’t know what I would be deficient in. I think I just rear naked choked myself with the bar.

ETA: I have a mild concussion. Doc says I’m okay, but to take the day off.
