Tonight's WOD: King Kettlebell

5 rounds for time
15 kettlebell swings (35 lbs)
10 standing lunges
15 cal assault bike
10 pushups
15 situps
10 kettlebell sumo deadlift high pulls

36:18

Looking for something more arm/chest/shoulder centric for Friday. On Wednesday, i plan to do "Jerry:"

Just to let y'all know, I'm not going to a dedicated Crossfit gym. I want to go, but the one my buddy goes to is too far away and their class times are not good for my schedule.

Only negative to CF for me, but classes are the reason I life it so much, so I can't really complain. If theres one close to you, I'd give it a shot. I didn't know anyone at my last two gyms moving around, and felt at home immediately.

Yesterday:
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 - 135# Clusters
3 BMU in between each.

I scaled to 95 and still hated it

Strung together 2 muscle ups for the first time though, so win overall.

I’m torn today between Evil EMOM (scales) and Georgie.

Evil EMOM is
EMOM for 14 minutes
Even minutes - Thrusters (65 lbs)
Odd minutes - KB swings (35 lbs)

Georgie is
AMRAP in 21 minutes
7 burpees
11 pushups
22 KB swings (35 lbs)

What do y’all think about this WOD?

8 rounds for time
8 pushups
12 KB goblet squats (35 lbs)
8 pushups
12 KB thrusters (35 lbs)
8 sit-ups
Close with a 500 m row

That’s 168 pushups, 96 goblet squats and thrusters, and 64 sit-ups. What’s a reasonable time goal on this? 25-30 minutes?

My programming skills are poor and I am overestimating my own skills. Here is what I actually did tonight:

Homegrown WOD I
6 rounds for time
8 pushups
10 kettlebell goblet squats (30 lbs)
8 pushups
10 kettlebell goblet squats (30 lbs)
8 sit-ups
Closed with a 500 m row

28 minutes and some change.

Chest is sore AF. Not sure why. I was benching two times weekly just last month. I had to stop those thrusters because they were whipping my shoulders especially combined with the pushups

Depends on your bench program beforehand.

If I’m benching 2-3x per week and it’s low reps/heavy weight and I toss in a day with an assload of reps at a lower weight (like shitloads of push-ups) it affects my body differently.

Today's partner wod is impossible. IMPOSSIBLE I SAY!!!

300 burpees
200 front rack walking lunges 50/35
100 t2b or 150 knee ups
200 rkbs 70/53
300 ski cals

Best I heard from this morning got to 90 ski cals but they did burpees at the same time. The best "I go, you go" I heard was at 88 rkbs.

On a completely unrelated note, our gym just got 2 or 3 Peloton bikes in. We might be turning into an Orangetheory.

Torn between two WODs today

“Ronnie Higgins”
For time
20 deadlifts (prob 135)
500 m row
10 deadlifts (prob 175)
500 m row
5 deadlifts (prob 205)
500 m row

OR

5 rounds for time
25 sit-ups
15 ball slams (prob 20 or 30 lbs)
5 military press or push press

The second one would give me a total body workout. I’ve had two of those already this week. Higgins would blast my legs fo sho. What y’all think?

Workout of the Day

A.) 3 Sets:

15 Straight Leg BB OH Sit Ups
12/s 1/2 kneeling KB Chop
30” Amrap Seated Pike Flutter Kick

B.) For Time:

50-40-30-20-10
Double Unders
Hollow Rocks


They didn't actually keep score of any of it. Finished part B in like 7:45. Scale for doubles was to practice dubs for 40 seconds each round. I was getting 10 or so per 40 seconds.

Didn't need AC yesterday!

We got almost through the rkbs. Those burpees followed by the walking DB lunges were murder.

Today..

A) Work up to a heavy bench single in 10 min

B) 8 min: Min 1.. 10 reps at 50% of Part A, Min 2.. 10 elevated feet ring rows

C) 4 Rounds.. Min 1 Max Cal Row, Min 2 Max HSPUs, Min 3 Rest


A) 275
B) finish all 10 reps easily every min
C) 114 Rx

Had nothing to eat today since I was driving all day back into town and I crashed after the 2nd round.

I still had another 25lbs in the tank on bench. 10 min is extremely fast to go to a true 1RM.
