You should be able to use gripe water at that age. Helps within a few minutes. There are also positions to put the baby in to relieve gas. One we found on tiktok works almost every single time:
Lay downand place your feet down like you're in a sit up position. Have your child lay on your thighs and almost hugging your knees. This would help our daughter pass gas mostly in burp form.
There are specific bottle nipples that helps with colic. They have a little hole in the nip to help relieve air out because some kids will suck so much from a bottle that they end up sucking air and get gassy.
Good luck. We are hitting 6 months next week. First two months were brutal. It will pass.

My first did this. I was losing my mind and resigned myself to having a colic baby. Turns out it was reflux, but not the kind that seemed obvious as he didn’t really spit up. As the days went on, it hurt him worse so by evening he screamed non stop and didn’t sleep much at night. Finally went to ER bc he wouldn’t take a bottle and they were like ummm, try some Zantac. Got him home and he slept 12 hours every night from that night on. All my kids ended up on Prevacid. Look for the signs baby shoe with reflux indicating pain. The tongue movement, arching of the back and screaming, being more comfortable inclined than flat (huge, all my kids ended up sleeping somewhat elevated bc flat bothered their reflux), etc. I almost wrote a letter of thanks to the pharma company.
ETA: also, dr browns bottles

You just described my daughter. I’ve been saying reflux since early on. We have been calling her the spit up queen too. We have a pediatrician appointment next week. She’s getting something

I will definitely try that position out!

1) Buy the stuff from St Martinville.
2) Lay the kid down in their tub basinet thing and place a towel on her belly. Just sit there and spray/pour water on the towel in circular motions.
That's all that helped my kid. Luckily, it only lasted a month for us

Aren’t you a physician? I’m surprised you are willing to wait until next week with the level of fresh hell that you’re experiencing
I learned with child #3 that the same Prevacid being prescribed was available over the counter. We went from paying $150/month to $14. Real thankful to that pharmacist at Kroger in Little Rock. Anyway, you could always get some and try it-if it helps overnight like a miracle as it did with my kids, you have your answer.
The minute I see it in surprise/kid #4, I’ll give her half. I do not have the mental capacity for the non stop screaming until a doctor appt. That ship sailed somewhere after baby #2.

Oh I am. But I’m also not mom. I only give suggestions. Mom makes the final call.
I’ll be asking the right questions to leave the pediatrician Wednesday with Prevacid

Let me know if you need any great leading questions but I’m sure you are smart enough to figure it out :)

Man, I am so glad I’m not in this hell anymore.

This book provides the answer, and I have given it to like 25 new parents after it was given to me.

It’s been a while but I think we use to add a spoonful of rice cereal to the bottle. I think that was for Colic.
Third one we went though every formula and she only could drink the most expensive hard to find one.

I have two pieces of advice (father of 6).
1. Reduce your stress as much as possible. I believe, after going through it so many times, that the stress level of the parent is passed on to the baby.
2. Buckle up and ride out the first 12 weeks. They come out only about 70% baked.

Our firstborn had it pretty bad. The only two things I remember that actually helped were swaddling at nap time and bed time, and switching formulas. It was some version of Similac, the pink one is all I remember. I got really good at using the swaddle sleep sacks. If you think it is tight enough, squeeze a little more. She still cried for a few minutes, but it eventually led to her sleeping, and us being able to sleep.
We had one of the swings, and I must have gone through a hundred D batteries in that thing. It helped initially, but it was more the formula switch that finally helped the most.

So update on her since we had our pediatrician visit Wednesday.
She gained almost two whole pounds so she wasn't concerned about any reflux. She suggested trying to change positions during feeding times.
Her colic isn't getting any better in terms of the screaming, but the time has changed. She cries most of the morning and early evening, but once she is bathed and has a her nighttime feeding, she sleeps great.
