At the beginning of this month I decided to give the carnivore diet a go, just to see if it had any positive impact on my life. As of today, I'm down 15 pounds, and I can honestly say I feel better than I have in years. I'm a 100% disabled vet, had back and shoulder surgery recently to address service related injuries, and those took a toll on my physical and mental health. I gained some weight and just felt like shite all the time. Depression was an issue and I hated that I let myself get to that point. I'm back in the gym now, I look and feel better than I have in years. My sex drive is up, and I can honestly see it in my girlfriend that she sees me in a different and better light now. Just curious if anyone here had any success in the long run with this lifestyle. If so, please share your story and give me some tips and tricks that helped you.

Just wanted to leave a quick message about the few negatives I have experienced so far. They are few in number, but I had some pretty bad restless legs about two weeks into the diet. I also had about a 4 or 5 day window around that same time where I just felt like shite, and really struggled with fatigue. Once that phase passed though, things were awesome and I felt like I was fricking 20 again. I'm 34 so that part is a huge plus for me lol

Carnivore seems to trigger people on here for some reason. I’ve been doing it for about a year now and it definitely works. Had all my bloodwork taken and all my numbers were great. Doctor couldn’t believe how stable all my numbers were. It’s like any diet not everyone will react the same and what works for one person might not for another.

Love it.

For me, adding LMNT electrolytes and some fruit made a huge difference

Same here, I've been taking the same electrolyte brand. That, and a magnesium and potassium supp took care of the restless legs for me. Glad to hear things worked well for you!

Add some fruit and you will feel amazing. Also, I love raw dairy.

I started carnivore a year ago on 6/02. I was at the heaviest in my life at 260 lbs at 6’2. My family took a vacation and I came home disgusted at what I looked like. I started strictly carnivore and was down to 187 by March of this year. I have begun adding a few vegetables and some fruits into my diet now and I haven’t had any noticeable rise in my weight. I watch the scale every day. I feel so much better than what I did a year ago.

I love the feeling of the carnivore diet and the results it brings. However doing cardio and lifting has been a problem. Adding fruit did help a bit but still don’t have the explosive energy as when Al eating higher carbs

Woff I'm pretty much in that boat of just being disgusted at the present moment. I want to jump on carnivore and stick to it. I want those kind of results.

-You don't needs carbs.

-You only need to have intensity for 50-60 minutes for a proper workout including cardio. This can be accomplished many ways. You can drink coffee, you can use a stim pre workout, you can use a non stim pre workout, etc. You can even use the old E/C/A stack. Many ways to get there for 50 minutes without carbs.

Man I was there a few years ago. It’s a great motivator. Pick something and go for it. Time flies by, next year will be here before you know it. You can either be healthier and on the right path or stuck where you are.

Awesome to hear, man.

A couple of questions:

How have your injuries healed up since?

How is your skin?

For bowel movements, is it true that - since basically 100% of what you are eating is bio-available, you are only going #2 every couple of days...and even then, not a big volume?
