My doctor prescribed minoxidil 2.5 pill for hair loss. It replaced the Losartan Potassium that I was taking for high blood pressure. Problem is I am gaining weight now despite walking 4 miles a day. Anyone experience this?

If you're gaining significant weight it is because you are eating too much. If it is 2 or 3 lbs it might be from fluid retention from the meds.

Um... so you no longer have high blood pressure?

But... if you are walking 4 miles a day at a fairly decent clip... and gaining weight... then you are simply taking in too many calories.

Unless your Losartan was Hyzaar and had HCTZ in it.. stopping that could cause fluid retention.

Sorry, to clarify, the Minoxidil is to reduce air loss (prescribed by dermatologist and ok to replace my Losartan P by the cardiologist) and it is also a high blood pressure medication, so I presently take it for both hair thinning and for high blood pressure. I stopped the Losartan P. entirely.
