Seems excessive and stupid to me. Though when I first heard about it I thought it was do a burpee (in place) and then broad jump.

Seeing idiots on youtube, it looks like you do a burpee jumping forward to your hands which essentially cuts the distance in half.

For one mile? hell no. The length of a basketball court and back will gas you.

I kinda want to do this now just to see how long it would take me but I don't want to look like an idiot jumping down the sidewalk in my neighborhood

Next thursday's track work could be interesting for me.

I'm actually wondering what a single lap time would be.

so I'm 6'2" and if I do a burpee, jump foward on my feet, then broad jump an easy 6' or so, thats 12' covered per movement

lets say I really only cover 10' due to my feet to coming all the forward on my burpees and I get lazy on my jumps

thats still 528 burpees for the mile

I can do 100 regular burpees in the 7-8 min range, so this is looking like about an hour total

shite

That’s an hour, but I bet it takes longer. Those rest periods will really extend near the end. Your legs and lungs will be fried. And if you do a real burpee it’s basically 528 push-ups as well. Everything would be fried.

The recovery alone would take days.

I'll have to check, but I think greyskull is 1/4 mile now that I think about it. Much more palatable

ETA: yea checked, its #7 in second book titled burped broad jump 400m

He specifically says it sounds easy but will eat your lunch.

Even 400m sounds awful to me. A mile just sounds stupid and like you said, set training back cause it would take a week or more to recover.

I workout because i enjoy it. And sure, no one "likes" conditioning but its usually short enough that it's palatable and you feel great 5 mins after you're done.

This is just self-torture and you'd feel like arse the rest of the day.

1/4 mile for me if I jump 5' every time is 264 Burpees.

30 minutes would would allow about 7 seconds for a burpee.

15 minutes would be 3.5 and that's a good pace.

However, 15 minutes of burpees would be absolute torture.
