Build a home gym - Black Friday edition

So I've reached my savings goal for the year to spend some extra money on finally building a proper home gym. I'm looking to spend no more than $2500. I'm the type to try and always get higher quality items when making bigger purchases like this so I'm not opposed to losing out on the quantity of items I can get within that price range.
I know Black Friday is probably my best shot at getting the most bang for my buck. I've kept an eye on Rogue's site and will more than likely try to hit a few of their sales. I'm open to suggestions on brands and equipment you might recommend. This will be set up in my garage, which remains closed most of the time since my truck doesn't even fit in it anyway.
Here are a few items that I currently have on my list:
Horse stall mats (planning on grabbing some from Tractor Supply)
Power rack (I'm open to a decent squat rack, though I do plan on doing pull ups pretty regularly)
Adjustable bench
Around 350lb of weight; mainly bumper plates with some iron weights mixed in.
1 or 2 barbells (I'm a big fan of the Texas power bar but the Rogue bars are pretty good too) and possibly a curl bar.
Some type of dumbbell system; hard to find a cheap set online so I try and keep and eye on Craigslist for any deals.
2-3 kettlebells
1 20lb wallball
Like I said I'm open to suggestions on things to add or take out. I'm not diehard to one brand so anything that's not poorly made or extremely overpriced, I'm open to. I appreciate any help, Happy Thanksgiving

My advice. You're on a good track with horse stall mats. Do that.
In the "buy once, cry once" camp of stuff you should invest in quality with:
Rack.
Barbell.
Bench.
In the "look for a deal" camp of stuff you can cut corners with in quality:
Weights (plates and db).
KB's.
Wallballs.
Basically, the foundational pieces that you're going to do a lot with should be highest priority.
I'm also from the school of buying all your core stuff (i.e., the buy once, cry once stuff) at one time, then seeing how you want to develop from there and buying piece by piece from there. If you wind up happy with a barbell and decide you don't need DB's, you just saved a lot of money.
Personally, a rack, BB, bench and plates would be my first purchases...then ride that for a bit until you get to accessories.

Look at Get Rx'ed. They have a folding rack for $275.. I have one and its pretty nice and a space saver. They also have a good price on bars.
Several deals right now on bumper plates with Rogue on the 5 for 5 shipping. Adjustable dumbbells might be your best bet right now. Just a thought

The home gym is probably the best thing I've purchased in 5 years.

Check out Rep Fitness for a rack and a bench. Have a rep AB-3100 adjustable bench that I bought a few years ago that I absolutely love. Ordered a Rep PR-1100 rack, weight attachment and lat pulldown attachment this week for their black Friday sale. It should be delivered tommorrow.

My bad, accidental downvote.

Any specific reason for bumper plates? Iron plates are a lot cheaper if you're not doing olympic lifts.

If your not picking up 135 yet, bumper plates are the safest way to set the bar height for your cleans and dls.

Agreed, though I will be doing the basic Olympic lifts used throughout crossfit. I don't only follow a Crossfit program, but I've always enjoyed doing cleans, jerks, and snatches over the years.

Great post, thanks man. And thanks to everyone else who's contributed as well. Got my mats earlier today, still looking around online for a power rack and weights. I did end up getting a bench off RepFitness that was mentioned on here a few times and got solid reviews online at other sites.
Does anyone have any experience with FringeSports? They have some pretty solid deals and their power rack looks pretty impressive for the price. Same gauge steel as the Rogue racks, the only thing I'd probably add are some spotters arms and maybe a landmine attachment.
Power cage for $489

Personally, I'd go Rogue for a rack. That's probably the biggest, most important piece, and Rogue has 100% solid quality and fantastic customer service.
Rack is the most important thing to get quality on, IMO.

I just built a home gym last month and one piece of advice I’ll give is to check the level of your garage floor. Mine is a bit sloped and I wish I had the money (and necessary skills) for a platform.

Fringesport is good quality and good customer service. I have Had one on their yoke racks for 5 years, no problems.
Rouge is way overpriced I don’t even look at their site.

Also, their customer service is top notch. I got a pair of wrist wraps that tore the first time I put them on. I sent a picture to Rogue and got a response immediately.
Two days later, I had a free replacement pair without having to return the first. It was the best customer service I've ever seen in the fitness industry.
Also, on a piece like a rack, stuff like solid welding, etc, matters. Some items you can go cheaper (I did with my glute ham raise) but on a rack...paying for top quality is a smart decision.

Got my rack last week and finally had a day to assemble it. For under $500 for the rack, weight attachment and lat pulldown, you can't beat it IMO.
