Dont worry guys, actual scientists and medical professionals cant even agree on what humans should and should not eat. But have no fear, some dude named Big Scrub TX on tigerdroppings has it all figured out.

Explain to me why exogenous sugar is essential for health.

Rather than make shite up about what actual scientists may or may not have concluded, why don't we look at some actual scientific publications. I'll start w a basic review (Lustig isn't anti-fruit - - this is overview of sugar generally).

Fruits
Whole fruits are high in fibre, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals and typically have moderate to low GL.14 Regular consumption of fruits is associated with lower risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and all-cause mortality in prospective cohort studies.717273 Greater consumption of whole fruits (especially blueberries, grapes, and apples) is significantly associated with lower risk of diabetes, whereas greater consumption of fruit juices is associated with a higher risk in three US cohorts.74 Compared with whole fruits, fruit juices tend to have less fibre, fewer micronutrients, and higher GI,75 and for these reasons, classifying whole fruits and juices together in dietary recommendations is controversial.

Yeah I was gonna post and analyze his fruit section. But it was middle of the night (dogs woke me up).
One thing to realize with these "associations" are confounding factors like healthy participant biases--e.g., most people think fruit is healthy so people who eat fruit to the exclusion of other sugary foods tend to exercise more, refrain from smoking, drink less, etc. So the all-cause mortality correlation isn't particularly strong based on epidemiology alone.
However, the metabolism is the metabolism. And if you're going to consume fructose, then obviously getting it in its whole form is healthier for a host of reasons.
But there is a lot of good research showing that there's no great reason to eat fruit. You don't need fiber unless it's to slow down sugar metabolism (see the section of GL/GI), and you don't need exogenous sugar (see gluconeogenesis) to thrive.
So unless there is some specific micronutrient/vitamin one is concerned about, there is no specific need for fruit. Most people can get what they need from good animal sources (I'll post some studies on that when I have a sec.)
Also, if you are doing interventions where you're utilizing ketone metabolism, then it's difficult to eat a ton of fruit (esp other than berries) on a regular basis.
There's also the ambiguous and obviously inconclusive yet plausible anthropological evidence that humans have been selecting and breeding fruit to be sweeter and sweeter over the millennia. And the fact that large populations throughout history have had limited/seasonal access to fruit, so it hasn't historically been a daily staple for most people.
And as others have noted in this thread, exercise can be added to the equation. Although I tend to stick to glucose and starch for carb cycling while training.
But one thing is very clear, we have a fructose problem worldwide - - the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease epidemic, including in kids, is just getting cranking.

But it's true. When you eat foods high in fiber, you know going in that 75-85% of their mass is going to be - by definition - indigestible. So, of course: eating a lot of fiber makes you shite a lot! No shite.
In the absence of sugar, you simply don't need to shite a lot. Look at the guys who do pure carnivore - the popular trope is that this would lead to the shits. However, the reality is to the contrary: since their bodies use almost all of what they eat (given the aforementioned bioavailability), the carnivores find that they shite only every couple of days - and even then, a pretty small quantity.

I’m just going to say what nearly everyone else wants to..
You’re a moron who thinks he knows it all.
How’s that for insightful?
No retort needed.

what a ridiculous fricking comment. if you eat a massive ribeye your body does not "use" almost almost all of it. There is so much ambiguity regarding diet and the science is constantly evolving yet you reduce everything to these ridiculously simplistic little gems.

I don’t care one way or another to be honest. I know what works for my body and workouts. Beyond that I don’t give a shite. Feel free to try again.

Based on your overly emotional reaction, I'd say you very much care.

It’s calling a dumbass. It’s done quite frequently here. You should know as you’ve been called out a few times yourself. :)
I’m going to go have some fruit and question life now.
