I just went for my first run after switching to the medicine and I felt like I was dragging arse. Heart rate stayed low for my easy run but felt like I was dragging. Anyone else had this issue? I’m going for a long run tomorrow so we will see how it goes

I have no experience with losartan but looking up side effects it seems like it could cause some like loss in sex drive and such. Maybe it’s just messing with your testosterone levels some?
Also says muscle soreness can happen so that could be some of it. I probably wouldn’t worry about it too much right now unless it lasts a while.

One weird thing besides dragging was after my legs felt like they wanted to give out almost while walking. All I did was run 4.5 miles in zone 2

When I first started on hypertension meds I went through 3 or 4 different ones with various side effects before finding one that worked w/o sides. Losartan was one of them but don't recall when in the process. Finally settled on Valsartan-HCTZ which, FOR ME, works well with no side effects.
Get your doctor to try a different medication until you find something that works and is acceptable to you.

Well the HCTZ part is a fluid pill so maybe it’s making you dehydrated and taking your potassium levels down with it .
Curious to see if you stick with it, and how your labs look to see if that’s part of the problem for you

Yeah the run went great. I don’t know what was up the first time.

When I first started taking losartin I felt the same on my runs initially but it went away in a couple of weeks. Can't say for sure it was the losartin and have been on it a few years now without other issues. It does work for me as intended.
