Anyone here run sprints?

I always hear sprinting is the best form of interval training, and it’s something I used to do in high school.
Any programs you guys use or do you just find a field and run a couple 100’s?

Yeah. I probably only run like 30 yards dragging a weighted sled bc I do it in the street outside my house.
It's fantastic for explosive power and body composition. I just aim for 4-6 working sets depending on how fresh I am.
I can see myself looking and feeling more athletic when I'm doing them regularly.

I like to run true 90% plus effort(rpe) 40 yard dashes.
What I do(work up to the volume slowly) is do this
1@50% rpe
2@75-80% rpe
7-10@90%+ row
I have a neighbor that works out with me and on the full go sprints, we race.
Now you are not going to be able to start at this or you will prolly tear a hammy right off the bone. Start with Working up to 5@75% for your top sets.
Make sure you warm up properly. We do this on non lifting days, up to 3 times a week. Our goals are 10 true sprints in 5 min.
I find sprints and the prowlers allow me to fully recover unlike other things. Keep in mind I am older and have a lot of time under the bar, so I am very mindful of my joints.

I run on days I lift with legs. I find this helps with being warm. I also don't really care how fast I go, so it's no biggie if I'm a bit tired.
Working a tiny bit submaximally is good. I never fully push myself, and it works just fine.

I run 8x400 sprints once a week. It's supposed to help with running faster. My 5k time has really improved, but I'm running a lot more too.

If you go into the running thread, you'll see lots of us do them.
I typically do them once every other week or so. 1 mile warm up. .25 miles (400m) sprints, followed by same distance recovery. Repeat 5 or 6 times and then do the final sprint for .50 (800m) and then a 1 mile cool down.

I’m not training for anything in particular, just like to run but I’d say 1 or 2 times a month I do some 400 or 800s.
I like doing them for the variation.

I’ll check in there more often, I just assumed that was for distance running
I’m basically looking to get leaner, stronger, and feel more athletic. My plan to do that is loft heavy and run fast.
