For me when it hit 44 I did all I could just to get out of bed and go to work. I was exhausted all the time. I went to the doctor and he put me on provigil. I was on it for two years until my insurance changed and the price went from $60 to $1,200 a month. A few friends were on test, I did my bloodwork thru private M.D. labs to get my test results. All and all for $50 a bottle I tried it and it helps me.

I've never heard of provigil but just looked it up. How did that work for the two years you were on it? Sounds like it would have nothing to do with treating low T(?).

How low was your T when you had it tested? I'm guessing that you didn't even realize it was low during the two years that you were on provigil.

I'm curious if anyone is able to increase their low T naturally if levels are more than just slightly low.

My sister and one of her close friends (female) both had situations of having very high estrogen (2-3x normal levels). Their doctors prescribed various pills that had nothing to do with the estrogen levels and they both eventually found out (years later) that the levels were so much higher than normal. Seems like the initial blood work should have highlighted this fact.

I'm going into my PCP tomorrow for my test results. I know 5 years ago, I was 252 Total, I can't remember what my Free was. After researching, I'm thinking Test C twice a week (dosage pending) and shoot for the 800 range and adjust accordingly, at 55 really I don't think fertility is an issue any more. I'm looking to go with subcutaneous injections instead of muscular. From what I have researched, less peaks and valley's and more balanced, stable level and less estrogen problems.

So do you have any other advice or knowledge on the route I am considering?

no your research is exactly what I would do. SubQ tends to get high total readings in people from what I have researched, but can be painful.

At 55 I would keep a close eye estrogen and if you start having itching nipples or any type of hard lump under the nipple, jump on an aromitze inhibitor right away.

800 might be a little high at your age but do what makes you feel good. I would guess a good starting point for you would be about 70mg twice weekly.

I was reading that if you do SubQ a regular 100mg shot can be cut back to 80mg and get the same effects. Also with SubQ you can use 25 gauge 5/8-inch needle TB syringe for shots in the belly.

you can use 27g 5/8 for both. I use it for my IM shots. and yea you can start with lower too. I usually tell people to start higher and work down usually.

What is the advantage of SubQ over IM?

The new studies have been showing slightly elevated levels compared dose to dose and it's easier for most people to shoot. Also one study showed slower release vs im so steadier levels. But it's symantics honestly.

I find subq painful for a couple days after and don't find im painful now. But for most it's opposite.

MY doc suggested I get the testosterone pellets. I’m still weighing whether I want to do TRT at all. Are the pellets effective?

Been thinking about TRT myself. All that I’ve read and youtube’d Suggests that the MOST consistent way to keep optimum levels is injection.

Creams, gels, pellets all can’t keep a steady Tlevel. You get dips and spikes which can cause side effects. Most concerning being blood clots (DVT).

If you are gonna do it injections are the way to go.

100% this. creams are second best, but if you have kids below puberty or girls, dont use the cream.

if you do use the cream, sneak a little onto the wives clit, you will think me later.

So I came in at 582 and I was 254 in 2012. They threw a Zoloft scrip at me today for my symptoms

get tested again, fasted in the morning. repeat every 4 weeks for 3 months. take the average. that will give you a good idea.

don't take that zoloft. go on a lower carb high fat diet similar to the get shredded diet posted on tnation. take in lots of beef and lots of omega 3 fatty acids.

drop alcohol other than a glass of red wine a day if you wanted. only water other than that as much as possible.

Start lifting heavy if you aren't already. keep the cardio to true conditioning

start getting minimum 8 hours of sleep a night

take a cold shower 3 times a week.
