Because the human body is resilient. I’m on day 5 of a 7 day dry fast and it basically sucks, but not once have I felt that I was in danger or harms way. I have done extended water/electrolyte fasts (longest being 5 days), so my body has some experience going without.

serious question...what's yalls height and weight? trying to get a good gauge of the body composition of people who go on these crazy fasts.

Some people just like a challenge. Some people believe it's good for your health. Some people are just insane

But seriously, don't die dry fasting.

5’10. Started at 186 lbs last Thursday after gorging on carbs. Ate No carb Fri and Sat to get a jump start on ketosis. Last meal was Sat night. Was at 168 on my last weigh in earlier today. Decent shape, body fat probably around 18%, maybe higher. Had a little gut to start, but don’t really carry fat anywhere else.

I’m interested in the mental aspects of fasting. Do you get any weird visions or euphoric feelings after a few days?

I'm just coming up on 48 hours so no vision quests yet but mental focus and clarity are supposed to be side effects of fasting. Makes sense enough, I guess. I mean who is more dialed into his environment- a well fed lion or a hungry wolf?
So goes the theory, anyhow. I'll report back.

No, not really. Just a ton of boredom. You never realize how much of your day revolves around food/meals. This one is tough - hunger is not an issue, but I got constant dry mouth and I’m f’in thirsty. I’m really trying to see if it will change my eating habits going forward. I’m the type of person that can go strict in a diet for 6 days, and eat 5000kcals on the 7th, including massive amounts of chocolate. I usually eat OMAD, so I typically eat a lot in that sitting. I think it helps me justify that FULL feeling of satiation, which I subconsciously seek for some reason. Anxious to see if any rewriting changes that going forward.
But I’d happily drink water out of a ditch right about now.

I get wicked headaches the last few times I’ve worked out on 20+ hours of fasting, which sucks because I WANT to go full beast mode (to the extent that my depleted body will allow).
It didn’t happen for the first 3 months or so that I tried it, only the last several times. Not sure what changed - best guess is I’m not drinking enough water or electrolytes. Planning to try again next week.

I do his ProLon program twice a year. I think it works well just to keep everything in check, you cut a little fairly fast, and overall health. It's somewhat easy as there are some solid foods.
I'm also using it to prep for full 4-5 Day no food fasts. Next year or the year after I'll do 1 of ProLon and 1 complete.

I'd guess not enough electrolytes. Add some salt to your gym water
