I know a lot of people doing keto use MCT or coconut oil but beyond that it shouldn't require any supplements right?

I supplemented insanely at the beginning, now just Magnersium.
Highly recommend l-carnitine, especially for beginners- crucial for fat metabolism in the mitochondria, but if you eat red meat, you are getting plenty. Don't consider it a supplement but I use an insane amount of salt (The Salt Fix, great book).

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like some medium rare Ribeyes are in order.

Yes, BTW, you mentioned MCT and coconut oil- nothing wrong with them, but don't go out of your way to consume. MCT is a great energy boost, but not required for ketosis. You are spot on with Ribeyes! I am attempting a Keto carnivore for month of October. Bought 2 whole Ribeyes @ Costco and 25# 80/20 ground beef. Should be a fun month!

I was thinking about starting my work days with some bullet proof coffee which is one of the reasons I inquired about the MCT oil

I sometimes take some MCT oil when I don’t want to eat straight up Kerrygold. I also sometimes will use a magnesium supplement called Calm. Lastly, I drink a lot of snake juice which has a lot of sodium, magnesium, and potassium.

I'm about to grill a fat one now, coming off a 24 hr fast. I find myself inching toward cannibalism, wait I mean carnivorism, unconsciously.

Bought some calf liver yesterday. Inspired by that crazy Snake Juice f'ing guy. He was drinking raw eggs and eating raw lamb liver last I checked. No thanks.

Anyway, I find I don't really need supplements for regular activity days. I'm nursing an achilles injury so I'm just light biking and swimming. I just make sure to eat a lot of salt. I'll do a pinch of potassium citrate now and then, and take a Mg tablet at night if I'm feeling crampy (not manstrating).

I also have some gene that Rhonda Patrick says means I need to make sure I get enough B12 and some other B. So I'll pop a sublingual B now and then.

If you eat a lot of avocado and macadamia and pecans, along with your ribeyes and such, then you're probably getting enough potassium and magnesium for ordinary days.

For weight training I have essential amino acid tablets (Kion) for 30 min prior. And bone broth/collagen and creatine now and then.

After this fast my mouth tastes like I'm chewing on foil with braces. I may go test blood ketones. Haven't done it in a few months.

I've made it before and have friends in MT who make a shite ton, but just buy right now unfortunately.

Once I get my life in order I want to start living off the land more.

Here’s what I do for my ketoaid:

Water - 2L
Potassium Chloride Powder (no salt, nu salt found at grocery store) - 1 tsp
Sodium Chloride (Pink Himalayan Sea Salt) - 1/2 tsp
Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) - 1 tsp
Magnesium sulfate (food grade epsom salt) - 1/2 tsp

I take a multivitamin and Metamucil but I’ve done that for years.

Very effective but don’t take more thinking it will be more effective. If you do liquid will be coming from your backside for a day.
