Alot better than an alcoholics view.
Just as I figured, I'm an a-hole for staying the truth. Like I said, you do you, but don't come here asking why you can't reach your goals or talking about how healthy you are now.

You got that part right. I'll be sure to raise my glass of IPA in your honor after my run tonight. You know, because I'm an alcoholic.

Most liquors have 0 carbs. Just sip on some Scotch or Bourbon. If you've been on keto for a while, you'll get wasted pretty fast, so sip slowly.

I limit myself to 1-2 glasses of red per day. If I want to drink more then it’s bourbon over ice only. No issues re: keto sis.
Yes I’m sure I’d have better/quicker results if I didn’t drink, but that would involve not getting to drink.

I appreciate your general point re: drinking and your contribution to the thread, but it’s a bit nonsensical to assume one must either abstain or be a raging alcoholic trying to relive the frat days to numb the pain of parenthood. It’s a completely false dichotomy. I, for one, enjoy a glass or two of Burgundy alongside a ribeye and am simply curious if this moderate approach to alcohol consumption is capable of being continued while on a Keto diet. If it’s not, I won’t do it. If it is, my steak will continue to be better than those of you pairing red meat with a glass of water.

Never made sense to me, being married with kids and drinking every night. I get having a glass of whisky on a Friday night while sitting on the back porch or 2-3 on Saturday during football season. Hell I get it at holidays etc. But some of you talk like not drinking is unacceptable. If that's the case...prolly need to reevaluate things.
I know many of you are gonna be pissed about that, but whatever. If you are drinking daily, you are pretty much an alcoholic, just because you sent it doesn't mean it isn't true. Especially if you are having more than one or two a night. It's pretty laughable hearing the excuses and the hand wringing when people are called out on this.
And that's fine, but don't try to come on the health and fitness board and talk about how you shouldn't have to give it up to reach your goals. 1-2 nights during the week and a little on the weekend is one thing, 2-3 a night is something totally different and if you are chasing
The truth hurts but needed to be said

Like I said, a glass of wine with a steak is not a big deal. And my rant really wasn't directed at you but j have seen over the years people come in and refuse to give up drinking hard liquor daily. At some point if you are drinking every night, you have to realize what you are.

You can definitely lose weight while drinking alcohol and not break ketosis. That said, it will impact your results negatively and make it harder. Personally, I was a heavy drinker and Made a decision not to drink while cutting and it makes a big difference.
