Wow this is going to be incredible. I looked it up it’s an hour east of Pine Dunes Resort in Frankston TX. I played Pine Dunes last week and I wasn’t really impressed. Felt like it didn’t live up to the hype. Wild Spring Dunes with two top designed courses and new accommodations will be a home run.

I got really excited about this as not only a resort destination but also a one night trip from Houston. Then, I started thinking about how hard it was to get our Sand Valley and Bandon trips planned. Those are pretty damn remote. I can't imagine how tough it will be to plan something here with 2 of the largest cities in America an easy drive away.

There is some great land out that way. Should be awesome.

Did they ask ChatGPT to generate a name based on new golf course buzzwords?

Well, the buzzwords are mostly due to the resorts they are making. I wonder if the Keisers regret not having the word dunes in the Sand Valley name. It seems the branding would be more clear to go with Bandon Dunes, Rodeo Dunes, and now Wild Dunes.

Sand Valley is an easy trip compared to Bandon. I’m pumped for these courses though

I’m excited about this but I’d be worrried about being able to find good staff there. Not a very attractive place to live I wouldn’t think. From what I’ve read Streamsong has struggled with that and it’s the most similar golf resort to this

Surprised this hasn’t gotten more attention here. This will be an elite golf resort that like 95% of this board will be able to drive to versus a trip to bandon.

Figured this thread would be filled with excitement.

I think this is a bit different than Streamsong. Nacogdoches and Lufkin aren't far away and you have SFA for some of the hospitality and caddy staff. For the higher paying positions, they have some beautiful properties up that way and Toledo Bend is nearby.

Haven’t seen any hard date yet. Do know a few Houston CC members that were already approached for memberships and are excited about it. Glad it’s fairly close but hope it doesn’t turn into Bandon Jr.. Don’t think it will since this is a much different climate than OR.

Are they selling memberships? Their website says “public golf resort”.

I didn’t see anything on the site that says they will offer membership opportunities.

I don’t think it’s public yet. All private offerings so far.

So that sounds like they are selling ownership stakes. Not memberships. Have any of that in writing from someone? I’m interested in hearing more about that.

I read it as you get a preferred membership, which can be passed only once to a family member when you die. So you don’t get any ownership stake.
Also seems like the membership may be up to $75k now assuming the first 50 spots at $65k have been filled. After 30 years you can be eligible to get your money back.

They're selling "founder memberships" the first 50 were $65k, it looks like the next 50 will be $75k. This is how they finance the project. Your founders membership gives you 0 equity.

quote:

AS WE BUILD OUT THE RESORT, BENEFITS INCLUDE:

Exclusive preview play for Founders and their guests before the first course officially opens.

Preferred selection status for real estate releases

The rare ability to join in special property and course tours during construction and playing a valuable role in the creation of these and future courses.

Initial Founders receive special “Pioneer” pricing. As the project progresses, the Founder deposit will increase.

AFTER OUR FIRST COURSE OPENS, BENEFITS INCLUDE:

Exclusive access to tee times and lodging prior to public availability along with special Founder blocks for shorter-notice access. Today, bookings at other Dream Golf resorts run as far out as two years.

No additional greens fees for Founders and immediate family when accompanied; 50% guest fees for up to three accompanied guests.

Access to Founders-only tournaments, events, and travel.

Wild Spring Dunes will offer the same level of hospitality that has made Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley among the most popular destinations in golf.

Founder membership is transferable one time to a family member, creating a legacy for Founders.

The Founder deposit is $75,000 for the second group of 50 Founders.

Your Founder deposit will be payable following acceptance of your Founder application, on the date you sign your Founder Agreement. Your founder deposit is refundable the later of 30 years or when you resign as a founder. Should the Wild Spring Dunes project not proceed for any reason, we will return your Founder deposit in full.
