Why not have a PGA or US Open at Colonial?

Only 7300 yards and rough not that thick but those guys have struggled sat and sun when its been firm and fast with some wind.

Logistically might not work but would be better than a lot of recent courses.

The leaders are currently -12. The US Open would faint if their leader was at -12 on Sunday.

PGA won’t go there because they just purpose built the PGA course in Frisco.

US Open was there in 41. Winning score was like 4 over.

They're also -12 with a par 70 as well. I'm not sure this a tough enough test.

The USGA would have no problem making -12 impossible on this layout.
A US Open setup on this course would be somewhere sound par

Not that these guys leading aren’t good, but Spaun is the only major champion sniffing the lead. If all of the top level players were there, it’s probable the scores could be lower.

Besides, climate wise it’s probably way to warm to garner much consideration…

As someone that appreciates this tourney, I found this to be a good perspective on how the Tour continues to squeeze them for no apparent reason. Colonial team desperately wants away from this late May slot in the schedule.
