I feel like Bethpage is very much a bomb and gouge sort of course where we're going to want our longest/best drivers above anything else. It's not everything, but will be valued a lot That leads me to go:

Brooks
Bryson
Cam Young
Cantlay
DJ
Finau
JT
Keegan
Max Homa
Morikawa
Scottie
Xander

Obviously, I'll be wrong on probably half these guys and there will be someone like a Gordon Sargent that most people haven't heard of who will be in contention but I figured this could be an interesting thread to look back on.

They can always change the setup, but the last major at Bethlage certainly didn’t play “bomb and gouge”

So much can change form wise but I’ll take a stab at it:

Scheffler
Brooks
Bryson
Cam Young
Cantlay
Homa
JT
Burns
Morikawa
Xander
Speith
Finau / Keegan / Clark / harman / one of the young americans coming up.

This basically assumes JT, Speith, and Bryson return to form and there’s no LIV drama still.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I would be absolutely shocked if any of these 3 make the next Ryder Cup team. I think they will be the Daniel Burger/Harris English of this team. They had good years leading up to the Ryder Cup, but will likely have a tough time replicating that form in two years. Keegan will be 39 and Harman will be 38. That's not a death sentence for making the team, but it's not helpful. Of the 3, I think Clark's chances have the biggest variance. I can see him fading away or becoming a top 20 player.

I'd love to see DJ get back into form, but he's getting up there, and I genuinely don't know if he is the type to get his drive back to get all the way back into the true top 15 - 20 in the world again.

Bryson has no shot unless he's an auto qualifier. Keegan will likely be too old, and I am just not sure how much better he can get.

I agree Cam Young has to be on the team as long as he maintains something close to current quality.

I would argue Will Zalatoris was badly missed this week - he would've fit that course well, and I think he would have been a damn good foursomes player.

I think you're likely to see a couple players at least from two pools of players:
- Mid-career guys like Harman and Clark who have historically hovered in that 30 - 100 range who have a hot 12 - 18 months
- At least a few young guys potentially still even in college at this point or just turned pro this year: maybe guys like Sargent, Dunlap, Thorbjornsen, Surratt, etc.

Not sure about the next RC, but I'm pretty sure this was our best player this past weekend.
