Are there “facilities” available on the course or do you just hit the tree line?

With so many neighborhood courses, it can be hard to be discreet.

On that course, trees.

It was called twin pines, I think mostly because for every one you thought was in your way there were 2 more just like it.

We lost many thousands of trees here in Augusta with hurricane Helene.

I still have managed to hit a few.

It was a devastating storm. Wish it had never happened.

Going forward, I think the loss of trees around the golf courses with benefit the turf. More sunshine, more air movement.

Yea. I thinking of dropping everything below 6 iron, hell maybe even everything below 7 Iron and replacing with hybrids/fairway woods. What did you replace your long irons with? Hybrid lofts/# woods. etc.

6 hybrid 29 degrees
7 wood 24 degrees
5 wood 21 degrees

Im sure you know but Short Game Chief is incredibly helpful. Watch some of his videos. He makes it simple and gives a good foundation when chipping around the green.

My driver is either amazing or dogshit. I can't trust my shot shape at all.

Amen. That's always been my struggle. Either striping it down the middle or a two way miss if my timing is off. Get too fast and it's spinning off into oblivion to the right. Too slow and it's hooking like crazy. When I'm synched up it's gorgeous.

Drive for show, putt for dough. I know the old saying. But hitting 3 off the tee or dropping two hitting 3 is a score killer.

I have finally gotten the feel and the swing path of being more in to out and neutral with the driver. However I am still struggling to have those same feels/results with the irons and woods

What day is it?

It changes a lot day to day as I get older and practice less. Putting has been the bane of my existence for the last 15 years, but last time our I had 27 putts. Iron play was horrendous. Go figure.

Find a copy of Ray Floyd's "60 Yards and In."

It's a quick read and will change your way of thinking about the short game.
His philosophy was basically get it on the green and let it roll unless the situation dictates otherwise.

Also, get rid of your 60 degree wedge if you have one. That club requires absolute precision. If you're struggling with chipping with a 60, find a low bounce 56 to replace it.

Same here.

What I learned in HS is to find my target from behind the ball. Address the ball. From the address position, simply rotate head to the right and look straight ahead. If you see your target without adjusting your gaze or moving your head, then you are ready to swing. If you don't see the target then adjust your aim accordingly.

The key is to stay in your address stance.

Hit 'em good.

I'm a mid 90s shooter right now with the main goal to get into the 80s. The big thing kicking my arse is having 2-3 absolute blowup holes a round, like a possible birdie into a double bogey.

I feel like I'm content with all aspects of my game rn (I mean it can all improve but I know where I'm at). But I'll usually look back at a round a realize 2 or 3 bad shots cost me 5-6 strokes a round.

I guess that is what makes the game frustrating and special all at the same time lmao.
